Raichand Mansion:

Anika was called down by her mother as the guests for the evening arrived. Even though, she has little to no interest in meeting this so-called groom's family, still here she was. Anika closed her eyes to control and hide her irritation from everyone. It wasn't very hard for her given to the fact that she had become a pro at masking her feelings and emotions over the last few years of her life. As Anika descended the stairs and conveyed her greetings to the people, she couldn't help but notice how prententious everyone looked from the Khuranas family. You could see the royality in their looks and behavior. Then again, she was reminded of her first meeting with the Oberois and their down to earth nature. Anika often thought about how she just clicked with the whole family so easily that sometimes she felt that she knew them since forever. Royalty wasn't any less in any of the Oberois but their nature and attitude was what made them unique in the eyes of Anika.

Seeing her so lost in her own chain of thoughts, Gauri nudged Anika to answer the question the mother of the supposed groom's mother who introduced herself as Maya was asking. She was asking Anika about her future plans. For a second, Anika had this urge to let her know that marriage is not a part of her future plans at all but given the presence of her family, she politely told her about her recently opened event management company and about its ventures. Her career and her interest in business was one thing Anika can speak about for hours. Indeed, her passion and hard work has brought so much success in her professional life. As Anika talked about her professional engagements, Avantika also added how Anika is flawlessly handling her fashion houses, event management company, and some of her father's ventures too all at the same time. On the other hand, Maya also detailed on how effectively Daksh (the supposed groom), a lawyer by profession, handles his legal firms. After some more talking and eating, Maya asked Avantika if it's fine for Anika and Daksh to talk alone for a while. Anika who was waiting for this moment immediately looked at her mom who asked her to take Daksh to the garden and show him a little around the estate. Anika immediately obeyed and asked Daksh to follow her.

As they both walked around in the garden, they both discussed their lives, priorities, expectations, ambitions, and goal. Anika thought it is the right moment to make everything clear, so she took a deep breath and start talking.

A - Daksh, I really like you as a person, and care about your dreams and goals, but I do not want to get married. I tried to convince my family about the same but in their opinion, at this age, I should already be married and settled in my life. They aren't ready to listen, but I can't keep you in the dark.

D - Anika, as much I appreciate your honesty, I would like to know why do you not want to get married? Like do you already have someone in your life or do you not believe in this whole concept of marriage?

Suddenly, Shivaay's face flashed in Anika's mind out of nowhere. Maybe this was the moment of realization or revelation, but Anika finally understood her dilemma. Her problem wasn't the concept of marriage or marriage in general, instead it was the person that was the problem. She finally realized and understood her disinterest because she had feelings for that Blue-Eyed Oberoi. This sudden moment of awareness of her feeling was so precious and overwhelming t Anika that she completely forgot about Daksh. Daksh had to shook Anika to get her attention. Once she did recognize the presence of Daksh, she was deeply embarrassed.
