She carefully paced through the tunnel of thorns. While she was walking through, she slipped back into the past.
She remembered her first day at 9th grade. She had just entered her first period. When she entered, people stared at her and murmured between themselves. She shuffled uncomfortably and quickly sat down at the only desk that was apparently hers. She stared at the empty air and daydreamed when finally the bell rang. She jumped a little and saw everybody standing up and leaving the classroom. She got up and swung her book bag into her back then left the classroom.
She went straight to the bathroom. When she got there, she splashed some water on her face. She looked up at the mirror and saw her face staring deadly back at her . She backed up and hit the stall door by accident. She looked up closely and saw herself but her eyes were a golden yellow. She ran out of the bathroom and bumped into a boy whom looked at her with golden- yellow eyes.
She backed up and accidentally bumped into another person with the same colored eyes. She backed up and this time she slammed against the water fountain. She turned and leaned against it, closing her eyes.
She opened her eyes and looked at the crowd of humans walking by her. They were normal. No golden eyes. She turned back at the fountain, sighed in relief, and drank from there. The water came rushing into her mouth and through her throat. She quickly stepped back. It tasted PURE METAL. She pushed back her thoughts. The bell rang and she was late to her next class.
Hannah snapped back to reality and began to see the path clear up. She quickly moved through the narrow tunnel and stepped out of it. She felt relieved. She was getting claustrophobic. She took out the compass and started exploring it. She opened and closed it. Its not much of use anymore. She stuffs it back into her pocket and then she began walking down the path.
"Yippee". No more danger. I bet this will jinx my luck.
She ends up staring down into two goblet cups. Both filled with water.
I knew it.
She walks up to the goblets.
"Whats this..." she mumbles to herself
"This got to be a trick. Obviously."
She glares at both goblet
She doesn't want to drink the goblet cups.
She stares at left goblet cup and slowly she moved her head down. She smelled the drink and it smelled like water. She got confused and smelled the right goblet. It was water. Both cups were filled with water. She stood up straight and she knew what this was.
"Something is not right... it seems all wrong", she continued, "This is wrong." She looks around her to see if there is any clue. She looks at the water in the goblet cup sees her own reflection. As soon as she blinked, she saw golden eyes glaring at her. She moved away from the goblet cups but suddenly she has been pushed forcefully, which made her drop to her knees and face the two goblet cups.
She knew that she was being forced to drink. She had to choose one and drink it. "This is unfair..." she continued, "I'm innocent..." Her pocket started to shine light. She put her hand inside the pocket and then to see the pocket watch shining brightly in her hand. She opened the watch only to reveal the water-filled goblets true form. One of the goblets is filled with crystal clear water and the other cup is filled with an unsatisfying red substance.
Blood.
Hannah's eyes were wide opened and now on high-alert. She heard whispers forming around her. The golden-eyes wasn't the only one pair of eyes. She saw millions of eyes popping out of the open. Hannah heard a hiss that was going around her in a circle.
"You speak of innocence young one . Yet you haven't seen the supernatural lately, have you?"
Hannah snapped out of her trance and spoke up. "I have no idea what your talking about. I am nobody."
"Your lies is what makes you who you are. You lie and yet you have trouble seeking the truth. You've been having difficulties in some sorts. You wish for the truth but you are drowned amongst your lies."
"You have the wrong person. For my whole-... I've been misunderstood, okay? So don't tell ME whether I am not telling the truth, cause you might as well know what I have been through and it has been HELL."
"Do not speak of saying what you not know. You are suffocating in your regrets and sorrows. You deserve the WORST pain... TORTURE. You have guilt, ah but alas, you cannot become innocent once more. Poor father was unloved by a stubborn child. He believed that-"
"I loved my father, and I still do. He worked hard to earn the honor of a true warrior. He fought like one too. He inspired me to become just like him" Hannah started to sob. She quickly picked up the goblet cup filled with water. She trembled. "Do not EVER tell me that he left without knowing that I didn't love him." Hannah began to yell, at the same time she began to wrestle with her feelings. " I LOVED MY FATHER BEFORE AND AFTER THE DEPRESSING DAYS OF MY LIFE."
Hannah chugged down the water in one breath.
As soon as you know it, she didn't hear a response. These spirits were trying to torment her. She learned that anger was not the best emotion to show. Before you know it, the golden eyes were disappearing. The last set of eyes glared at her then dissolved into thin air. She sighed in relief, still shaken up by the argument, Hannah stuffed the pocket watch inside her pocket and started to walk again. She took three steps and she fell to the floor. Sobbing and screaming, what the spirit left behind was the pain from her past.
