"What do you mean you can't look for him!" I yelled
"The people who took your brother, could probably kill you in a heart beat. so your not looking for him." my father said, opening the newspaper.
"Especially because you haven't been trained, let alone discovered what you are." said my mother.
"Why would they take him anyway. it's not like the two of us are special." I said, picking angrily at my food.
My parents exchanged glances.
"Oh no. your not doing this again.
We are not special, right?" I said.My mother looked around
"That's a conversation for after your trained." she said quietly.
Unbelievable.
I let out a sigh so they would know I was annoyed. "then how do I get trained." I said.
"No out of the question. your not being trained till your older." my father said standing up.
My mother began to speak
"John, you can't keep her fro...""No! I will not have my daughter put in the line of danger. not after losing jace." He said cutting her off.
They walked into the other room, closing the door behind them.
"No matter what we do she will be trained, the prophecy can not be avoided." Was the last thing I herd my mother say.
How dare he not let me look for jace. AND not let me train, whatever that was.
I stormed off to my room.
"Mom, please win this." I muttered to myself.
For the next hour I sat in my room drawing. I'm fairly good at it, but I still need a lot of work.
I drew the plant sitting in the corner of my room. it was a vine, a moon flower to be exact.
I've had it for about three years now, a long time I guess.
Eventually I herd footsteps come up the stairs.
It had been settled.
My mother walked into my room.
She gave me a hug "pack your things" she said.
I stared at her in awe "you won!" I said.
"No. but you need to be trained. I contacted one of my old friends, they will be here any minute."
I quickly pack my things.
Ten minutes later I herd a knock on my window.
There was a man floating out side.
He had black hair with orange streaks in it, he was short. Very short.
"Levi, thank gods." said my mother opening the window.
The man climed in.
"Hello Mary, I do wish you would call me for things other than business." he said
He had a French accent
The man turned to look at me.
I knew he was sizing me up.
"So the little sprout grew up." he said quietly.
I gave my mom a look. what was he talking about.
My mother walked over to me. she gave me a hug and handed me my stuff.
"Be good, Don't set things on fire." she said cupping my face with her hand.
"Oh my gods, that was one time!" I said walking towards the man.
"So..." the man said looking over my shoulder. "no wings?"
I nodded my head, feeling embarrassed.
He glared at my mother for a second before grabbing my underarms and jumping out the window.
I waved goodbye to my mother as we rose hire.
I could hear him mutter under his breath "why, why can't she teach her heavy kids how to fly."
After about half an hour we stopped to rest.
"So. who are you." I asked.
The man wiped sweat from his face. "my name is Levi. I was your mother's best friend growing up. I was a there the day you where born." he said pointing at me.
That's creepy.
"So then why have I never met you before?" I said.
"Because your mother went into hiding."
"Why?"
"Have you ever herd the prophecy?"
