That night I didn't sleep.
I stayed awake staring at the ceiling.
Did the statue really talk? I asked myself over and over.
When dawn finally broke, I was so tired I didn't notice Levi come into the house.
"Good morning." he said.
I jumped out of bed and landed on my bum.
"Your rather jumpy. did you get enough sleep last night." he asked, tossing me an apple.
I caught it and said
"No. the mattress is to hard. haven't you ever herd of memory foam?"Levi gave me a confused look.
So no he hadn't.
Great.
I got showered and dressed while Levi made breakfast.
I put on a cream colored tank top with soft blue shorts.
On the dresser there was a pair of green leaf earrings.
They where small, but they seamed to call to me.
I put them on without thinking and went to eat.
Surprisingly, Levi was actually an amazing cook.
He made omelets, which I don't usually like but these where like little slices of heaven.
After we where done eating, Levi began to nag me about my wings.
"You need to grow them now if you want to start school, they won't let you in without them!" He complained.
"I don't know how! I've been raised as a non-magic being my entire life!" I told him.
But he kept going on about how I needed to grow them now.
After hours of pointless arguing I finally said
"If I need to grow em, you got to show me how!"Levi, stunned by my sudden outburst, only made a face.
He held this face for a few minutes before walking over to me and grabbing my shoulders.
He looked me in the eyes and said.
"Sara, you have to do this by yourself. it cannot be taught. also, where did you get those earrings?""What?" Was all I could manage to say.
"Those earrings, where did you get them?" He said again.
Confused, I pointed to the bed room.
He ran over to the window and began yelling at the statue.
"She's not ready! She can't even fly yet!" He said.
He paused and listened for a moment.
I don't know what he was listening for because it was dead silent.
He turned back to me, his face horrified.
"She doesn't care. she wants you ready now." he said shaking.
"Ready for what?" I said.
Levi came over and hugged me.
"When the first fæ wants something done, she bestows a gift apone the person she wants to carry it out.
Most if the time she wants war."
He whispered"She wants me for war?" I said.
"I'm so so sorry." he whispered.
War! How could I be in a war! I've never killed a person in my life!
Levi pulled back.
"We need to get you flying. now."
He said.I gave a small nod and said nothing.
Levi went over to the window and jumped, quickly I ran over to make sure he hadn't died.
But a few moments later he came souring up, I keep forgetting he can fly.
"I'll be back in an hour." he said simply before soaring off.
i wandered around the house for some time before getting bored.
I walked into the bedroom and flopped down on the bed.
"How did I get myself into this." I muttered quietly to myself.
And before I knew it, I had drifted off to sleep.
In my dream, I sat in a white room with no walls or floors. to be exact there was nothing, just an empty white void.
I sat down on some invisible floor, for who know how long, until I herd a voice behind me.
"Oh thank gods I found you." It whispered.
I turned around quickly to see who had said that.
Be hind me stood a girl, she looked about 12. she was short and had rainbow coloured hair.
I looked behind her to see a pair of wings.
But not the butterfly wings I was used to seeing, no, she had wings of a bird. each feather a different colour.
"Your Sara, right?" She said suddenly growing nervous.
"Y...yes" I stuttered.
Instantly her face washed over with relief .
"My name is Wind." she said stretching out her hand towards me.
I took it and she pulled me up.
For a girl of her size she was unexpectedly strong.
She glanced behind me, and gave me a confused look.
"Where are your wings?" She said.
I blushed. always with this dammed question.
"I haven't gotten them yet." I said meekly.
Wind stared at me for a moment before turning me around and putting her hand on my back.
I felt a sharp pain, and saw a bright light coming from behind me.
She removed her hand and turned me back around.
She smiled. "that's better."
I turned my head to look at what she was talking about.
I had sprouted a pair of purple butterfly wings.
I snapped my head back around to stair at wind.
"You've never seen magic before have you?" She had taking a step back.
I continued to stair at her.
How had she pulled out my wings! Levi said it was impossible!
Yet here I am, brand new wings!"Who are you?" Was all I could say.
Wind jumped up.
"Oh, I'm so sorry, I forgot to tell you!
I am Wind, barer of the mark of rose, and child of the stars. And you, dear sara, are the holder of the leaves of fate. I have been looking for you.
for a very long time."
