Hogwarts was most undoubtedly restored. No additional stone debris or dried blood through the corridors. The battlefield she once faced was now the same old school she grew up in. The one her parents called a joke. Till Mcgonagal showed up at their door and caused her mothers eyes to nearly fly out of her head while being shown a patronus.
Hermione's eyes wandered around the 'new' great hall, her once dining area to joke with harry or scowl Ron for his bragging at wizards chess. The reminiscences were still there no doubt.
She knew they might stay invariably, perhaps even inhabit her mind in the dark. Those were continuously the worst. arousal in sweat and trembling in her own skin. No, every brick was back in its same old place. No cracks or missing pieces.
Her feet still carried her through the hall, nonetheless her mind spun. Per usual. Hermione nearly wished to drop on the stone and shake for every friend who was missing.
Lavender Brown's high pitched laugh never echoed from the Gryffindor table once more. George currently walked alone. The white flash of Colins camera never struck her eyes.
She noticed Ginny before she could partake in any grieving once more. Ginny looked virtually unrecognisable from a year of not seeing her. Nor Ron either.
The Weasley's departed to France for a year following Fred's death. part distraction and morning for Molly's son. Ginny's hair was currently cut to shoulder length and her face seemed even out to a more femanine look. Her red hair remained the colourful fire Hermione knew.
"Hermione!!" Ginny exclaimed once their eyes met. Hermoine may solely manufacture a faint smile these days. She told herself to not let anyone see her breakdown here. If the war heroine could not stand to be here than who could. Smile and nod. Smile and nod.
"Hey Ginny" the mahogany wood spread across the Gryffindor table was slightly frayed and faded. After years of use and a station for fallen body's had finally made its mark. As for the HHR(Hermoine,Harry, Ron) mark engraved stayed prominent. She studied the mark, running her fingers over the deep lines.
The Golden Trio engraved their names into the table in 5th year. As a tribute to being tighter once again. Hermione found it as a symbol of home for her. She grew up alone in the muggle world. Aside from her parents she had no one. Called a 'freak' 'nerd' by her classmates. Hogwarts seemed to be a turning point for her. She finally found herself and friends for the first time. Craving her name into the table meant more than they knew.
"It's weird we always sit in the same spot" Hermione inquired. She noticed they always had the middle end of the table. Never once had they moved too far to the left nor right.
"Well our mark is still there so I guess we sort of claimed it. So no Hermione, I don't find it too weird" Ron responded half crewing chicken and picking up a pumpkin tart. She's scolded him for his bad manners. He simply shrugged at the fact.
She had to admit, in the year of not seeing Ron he had changed. His boyish look completely left his body. His jawline had a finer touch to it. His freckles dominated his face along with his even clean smile. She draw her attention away from him.
"Feels weird to be back though" Ginny commented, drawing Hermione out of her sentimental endeavoring. She did agree though, somewhat at least. More so she felt guilty to be back. Why her? Why not Fred or Lavender. Why should Hermione Granger get to sit surrounded by her family. With great amounts of food and warmth.
Bittersweet. Everything right now was awfully bittersweet.
Everyone in the great all seemed to adjust quickly and bounce back to their old selves. She glanced at Dean laughing and clutching his stomach.
