A/N - Hey guys! So I'm gonna update for the two readers I have at the time. Please tell your friend, your family, your neighbors, your dog. Read this story! LUV MY READERS! ONWARD!
I followed Natalie out of the room and down the stairs again. "You've caught us on a good day. It's our annual pack picnic. It's just a day of eating and games." We walked past a kitchen and I'm was so tempted to run inside and eat like a savage but I didn't.
"Eating sounds really nice...and games! Gotta love those games." I rambled trying to cover up the sound of greed. "Don't worry. You'll get fed soon enough... I hope. You just have to meet the Alpha and see if he approves of you."
I roll my eyes. Approved? What am I some kind of object that need to meet the guidlines of some overprotective mom?
Natalie pushed open a pair of double doors and breaths in the air. "Just follow me and ignore the boys and you will be fine." she said walking outside into a HUGE back yard. Shifters of every age were lounging around laughing and having a good time.
Kids were bouncing around in a bouncy house, adults played horse shoes, young adult my age sat around a pool gossiping. It all looked so relaxing and well...fun!
"Keep up." Natalie called a few yards away. She expertly weaved her way through the crowds while I clumsily bumped into people here and there constantly apologizing. My cheeks turned red as I kept my head down mummbling "Sorry." and "Escuse me." left and right.
A few guys winked at me trying to flirt causing me to stifle a laugh or two.
I stopped next to Natalie who, tapping her foot, waited for a man to turn around. My eyes widened as my wolf pranced in joy. 'He's here! He's here! she howled.
I looked around excitedly. 'Adam?' I asked. 'No! Our mate!' I coughed and choked on the air I was breathing. 'What? We don't have a mate.'
The guy who Natalie was waiting for stiffened and turned toward me slowly. It - it can't be! The alpha cannot be my mate! I stepped back as he smiled at me.
"And who might this be?" he said holding out his hand. I shook it feeling the shocks shooting up my arm. "I- I am uh..." I said taking in his face.
His strong, angular jaw line and shocking grey eyes could strike fear into anyone's heart. His brown hair was slightly messy and framed in his perfect, flawless face. "I'm sorry I didn't catch that." he joked.
"I mean..." I mentally scowled at myself. "My name is Starlett." I said practically mezmerized by his face.
He bend down and kissed the back of my hand. "I'm Alpha Victor but you can call me Dominic." I blushed and giggled. NO. I DID NOT JUST GIGGLE!
"I was told I had to meet you in order to stay in your pack. I just-" "You feel it don't you?" he asked cutting me off.
"Feel what exactly?" I asked even though I knew exactly what he was talking about. " The energy. The electricity. The vibes our wolves are sending each other." he said searching my eyes. "I- I don't know what you are talking about." I whispered.
"Liar!" my wolf sang childishly, her voice vibrating inside my skull. "You and I both know it's him. Don't be scared! He won't abandon you.' she coaxed pulling on her leash urging me to just let her take over. He squinted looking at my face and found what he was looking for.
The truth.
He released my hands and smirked slyly. "So I'm not your mate?" he asked. The word mate made my heart thump against my rib cage. I saw a man who looked like an older version of Domonic come up from behind him.
"Did I just hear you say 'mate' son?" the man said anxiousness written all over his face. A woman presumably his wife came up and hugged her husbands arm. "Dommie? You found your mate? Is she your mate." she said smiling wide.
"Rebecca!" Dominic called. A girl about the same age as he came over to him her red hair glistening against the sunlight. "Yes Dommie- bear?" she said leaning in close to him. At that second I lost the fight and my wolf pushed to the wheel.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" his mother screeched. She looked over to me and her face dropped. I was shaking horrendously. At that point I had no control what so ever. Everyone's head turned toward me.
The moment their lips touched and murderous snarl ripped from my lungs.
Without my consent my hand reached out and flung the girl from him, her body making a sickening thump as she hit the ground behind me. My other hand raised and, in one swift motion, back handed Domonic. I hit him with such force I grunted in response.
He yelled out in pain his head whipping to the side. That's gotta hurt! His hand went to his cheek that was turning red and probsbly burning. I'd been slapped before and trust me it did not feel good. I beeged my wolf to calm down but she mentally shushed me.
'I am doing what you are too afraid to do.' she mentally huffed.
"DO NOT KISS HER! I AM YOUR MATE!" my wolf yelled causing many, including me internally, to cringe in fear. "IF YOU WANT HER HEART NOW YOU WILL WORK TEDIOUSLY FOR IT!" she lectured heatedly before letting me regain control.
The moment I had control of my body I did exactly the opposite of my wolfs reaction. I sprinted back to the house sobbing with tears soaking my face.
Before I got inside I heard Roman's voice shouting as if a comentator at a wrestling match "And that, ladies and gentlemen, is gonna leave a mark."
