My grandma had just returned home from town. This time, I asked if I could come next time, she of course said it was too dangerous, and I needed to say and look over the crops. This time though, I wasn't satisfied. "Come on, I'm old enough now!" She said nothing. Just stared at me like a damn painting. I was insistent though, so I repeated myself. This time though, She opened her eyes crazily wide. I was taken aback. "Are... you okay?" I asked. "The room. NOW!" Her voice boomed, vibrating the whole house, giving Rufus quite the spook. I was so... surprised. She had never done anything like this before. My dear grandmother, acting hostile? I walked toward Rufus and picked him up. "No." She said. "Sorry?" I replied. "Rufus. Leave him here." "Sure but... wh"-"Leave him." She said. "Okay... Goodnight."
The challenge of falling asleep was daunting. I was curious, and worried. Why didn't she let me take Rufus? Then, I heard her footsteps up the stairs. I was going to ask her if Rufus was fed and sleeping, but then she started rambling. "Damn doggy, have to shh, do it BRRR chilly woo." I was dumbfounded, I
almost laughed and got up, but, I just stayed in bed and pretended to sleep. I woke up in the morning to the smell of pork. I went down, and the first thing my granny said was... "Rufus got out. I couldn't find him. I'm sorry... buddy."
