Tide Pods. (He Didn't Learn.)

You would expect 5 year old Peter to learn from the last time he drank anything related to detergent, but that's where you're wrong. Whenever Peter had taken trips down into the laundry room with Tony, he had seen the Tide Pods sitting on the counter with the rest of the detergent brands. They built a shelf into the wall so Peter couldn't reach the detergent and do what he had done last time and drink it. Peters eyes always met the Tide Pods whenever he had went down to clean his spiderman suit with Tony, always curious what they would taste like.

Even though he should've known, he imagined them to taste like sweet gummies; preferably blue raspberry or strawberry. Tony and Pepper had been busy cleaning up around the place from the night before. Bruce had made some messes around the night before and forgot to clean them up, so Tony and Pepper had to clean it themselves. Peter was told to play with his toys, nothing else unless he had to ask Tony a question, though Tony kept a sharp eye on the boy. Peter then thought of the tide pods. He wanted to try them, thinking they would taste like.

Peter looked and ran down to the laundry room, looking at the box on the shelf. Getting up there was the only struggle. He looked around the room, analyzing any piece of furniture he could use in the room to climb up, seeing a laundry basket. Peter ran over and dragged the basked to the washing machine and flipped it upside down before he had climbed onto it, getting on top of the washer. Now the Tide Pods were in reach distance. Peter reached for the box, dragging it off the shelf and going to catch it, but he didn't seem to realize the weight of the box, dropping it.

Peter looked as the pods spilt all over the ground, staring at them. Peter got down from the washer and he sat down, grabbing one with pretty colors and putting it into his mouth, biting it. The thick liquid much like the detergent bursted out of the plastic and he had gotten the taste of it. It tasted like detergent. He quickly swallowed the thick soapy liquid and shook his head, disapproving of the taste. It didn't take that much longer afterwards for Friday to alert Tony. Tony walked to the laundry room and saw Tide Pods everywhere, and tiny Peter in the middle of them taking the plastic out of his mouth. "Pete... Did you eat a Tide Pod?" He asked the boy, staring. Peter didn't do anything but nod. "They didn't taste like gummies." He spoke, huffing. "I wanted them to taste like gummies." Peter said before looking at his father. Tony sighed softly, walking over and picking up Peter. "That's because they aren't gummies, Peter." He said, starting to walk out of the laundry room. "Now c'mon, we have to tell Pepper." He spoke, wondering what reaction she would have after the detergent incident.

Pepper had looked, but she wasn't surprised. She sighed softly and brought Tony and Peter to the hospital, Peter having the same tests redone. Tony sat with Pepper in the waiting room until they were able to go in to see Peter and he sat down in the chair next to Peter. "Have you learnt to finally stop eating the laundry stuff?" He asked, looking at him. Peter looked and nodded softly, looking at his father. "Sorry again." He spoke, looking at Tony. Tony gently patted Peter's head. "It's okay, just don't do it again." Tony said, smiling. "Get some rest, okay?" He said, rubbing Peters back.
