CHAPTER 2: The black hoodie

CHAPTER 2

I feel like my head is tearing apart because of the headache I’m feeling. It’s already midnight but I couldn’t sleep. What happened earlier makes my mind clouded. Was it just my hallucination? I stared at the flash drive on my study table. I asked a copy of the CCTV footage and it’s all inside of that flash drive. I sighed heavily and stood up. I sat in front of my study table and turned my laptop on. I held the flash drive and put it in the USB port.

I manipulated my laptop and open the files where the footage is. I heaved a deep sigh while opening the video. But after watching it simultaneously there’s no man in a black hoody came out!

I was just hallucinating!?

I sighed heavily and closed my eyes. Majesty stop thinking about non sense things! You have piled up cases that you need to solve but you just keep thinking about the man in a hoody jacket?

Morning came and I feel like flying above the clouds. I have no sleep but I need to go out for work. When I went in on our firm I saw our boss which is Attorney An. He was talking to Inspector Kyline. I suddenly remember Jean Fajardo’s case. I walk towards them and I heard them talking.

“If this isn’t an accident who would kill Jean Fajardo? Her father got an interview with the press and he told them that Jean had a suicidal note.” attorney An said. My brows furrowed. What? A suicidal note? 

“Did the police check the suicidal note?” I but in. They both look at me with curious eyes. 

“It is. They check it and Jean’s father confirmed that it was Jean’s hand writing.” attorney said. I played with my lower lip while thinking. An accident turned to a suicide. Jean left a note that she’s about to suicide.

“Is there a reason for Jean to take her own life?” I asked while thinking deeply. Kyline looked at me, she’s obviously thinking too.

“Her father said that Jean was heartbroken because her boyfriend break up with her.” Kyline said. I sighed heavily. No...it wasn’t an accident, neither suicide. It’s definitely a murder case.

“I need to see her suicidal note. Also, give me her boyfriend’s phone number. I also want an appointment to her father.” I said seriously.

“Wait! Why?” Kyline asked. I sighed heavily.

“Jean was also caught in the camera with Mr. Rosario at the mall. But the thing is…after Jean died, Mr. Rosario went missing. Their case is connected to each other. I need to find it out.” I said.

“It would be a big case, Detective Lux.” attorney said. I nodded. I know. I also have a suspicion that the suspect isn’t just anybody. From what I see, he or she is powerful. The attaché case….what would be the thing inside? Money?

It’s already afternoon but I’m still facing my laptop trying to study Mr. Rosario’s acquaintances. But from what I see there’s no suspicious people around him. And from Jean…she only has one friend and boyfriend. If you will see in every angle their case has a lot of differences but there’s just one thing that connects one another. It’s the CCTV footage, the attaché case and the day Mr. Rosario’s went missing and Jean Fajardo’s accident.

I was staring intently on my laptop when I heard loud footsteps outside my office. My brows furrowed and got confused so I went out and see what is happening but a messy and a lot of people welcomed me.

“What is happening?” I asked one of our intern who just pass by. 

“They saw Mr. Rosario’s body in the dump site.” my eyes widened and my heart beat faster. What the hell? Mr. Rosario is dead?!
