Leaderboard

"Wait what?!?" We all said.

"Yeah" he said.

"Wait, but we saw we were on level one on the leaderboard." Said Sofie.

"Let's show him." I said to Sofie and Zoey.

"Sure, you guys can show me." said Chief Conner.

"Ok, I guess I'll see you guys there!" said Sofie, running off.

"What? Isn't she coming with us to the board?" Asked Chief Conner, confused.

"She is going to the leaderboard but not with us. She loves to run and go but Zoey and I want to save our energy, so we don't run."

"Wow, it's only been a day and you guys already know each others so well!" said Chief Conner.

"Actually, we have known each other for seven years, we all met in college." said Zoey.

"So you guys came here together?" asked Chief Conner.

"No, we didn't. The rules said that we can't tell anyone that we are working here so we didn't even tell each other. I don't know how we became roommates, but I'm happy that we did!"

Chief Conner just looked at Zoey and I, shocked.

I haven't been saying his name much but calling Conner 'Chief Conner' is becoming annoying. He looks like he's our age or younger! I wonder how old he is....but I don't want to ask him because it might get awkward and I cannot deal with awkward silences! Hmm, I think I'll just call him Chief Conner to his face...

"Hey Conner, oh wait, Chief Conner, how old are you?" asked Zoey.

Did Zoey just read my mind???

"Yeah, how old are you?"

"Oh, I'm going to turn 27 in a few days." he replied

"Really??? When is your birthday??? Zoey said, squealing.

Ugh, Zoey! She's obsessed with planning birthday parties and parties in general, so anytime there is a mention of a birthday she goes into full party mode.

"Oh my birthday is on May 15th." he said.

"That's too close!! I need at least a month's notice!!!" said Zoey.

"What???" He asked, really confused.

"Ahem, what she means is that you should have told us that your birthday was so close."

"Oh ok, I guess." he said.

Just then, we could see Sofie standing right next to the leaderboard.

"What took you guys so long??" she asked.

"We didn't take long, you just went too fast."

"Well, ok, but more importantly, look at the board!" Exclaimed Sofie

The board said that we were on level 1. Just like we remember.

"Oh, these were made before we moved you three up to level 3." said Conner.

"Oh! Why were we moved without even doing one mission though?"

"You three did very well in the training, and your first mission requires you to be in level 3. Since only 10 people can be in level 3 at once, we either ask the agents to take a break, or go down a level." he explained.

Oh...so we basically kicked people out of their jobs so that we can come...

"But don't worry! We didn't kick them out, we just asked all ten of them if anyone wanted to take a vacation and three of them volunteered." he continued.
