Chapter 1

If I should die before I wake , Its cause you took my breath away . Loosing you is like living the world with no air .

Today was the hardest day of my life. I just left the funeral of my sister. She was the one that raised me all our lives. I don't know what happened to our parents , everytime I brought them up she would change the subject , so I just figured that they died. I'm going to live with my uncle Kevin , I found his number in my sisters room after she passed . He has a daughter around my age . I heard the door bell ring and I got up to answer it . I opened the door and there stood a sorta tall , lightly toned guy . He pulled me into a hug . "My goodness , I haven't seen you since you were in diapers." I hugged back for a while and stepped

back and let him come in. "How are you holding up?" He asked. " I'm fine I guess." I answered. "Listen . I'm here whenever you need me , trust me . I will never let anything happen to you ." He Said. I nodded my head . "Thanks." I finally said as he packed my bags in his car . I grrabbed the picture of me and my sister and put it inside my wallet . "Are you ready?" I jumped and turned to see my uncle standing there. "Oh..yeah ." I said and walked out and got in the car. He got in the driver side and drove off.

We arrived in Los angeles , california at this HUGE house. "This is your house?" I asked In shock. He laughed. "Our house." He went and started taking out my bags. I got out the car . "Wait. So you mean to tell me that I'll be living here?" I asked. "As long as you want he said and went and opened the door. I walked inside. "So, where will I be sleeping?" I asked. "Yeah, Hold up . Alex !" He yelled. "Yeah ?" This really pretty girl came down the stairs. "This is your cousin tyla . Show her around and show her where her room is." He said. "Omg . She is soo pretty . Hi, Im alex but you can call me lex." She said hugging me. I smiled . "Hey , I'm tyla." I said following her . "Okay . This is the living room where you really don't have to come because , there's a tv in your " she said . I looked around. We went out this back door. "This is the pool , which of course you can tell ." We walked back in the house. "And this is the kitchen." She said . "Its huge ." I stated. She smiled and we walked up the stairs. "That's my dads room , thats my room , those are the guest rooms , and across the hall from my room is your room." She said as we walked into the room. I had a king sized bed with black & blue covers and a black bench at the end of the bed with pillows on it . On the wall was a big flat screen and a black computer desk with a laptop and blue lights . Then in the bathroom was a walk-in closet filled with clothes and jordans and heels. "Woow." I said in amazment And she laughed. "Now get dressed." She said walking out. "Where we going ?" I asked. "A party . Get dressed." She said and left . I sighed and got in the shower.

We arrived at the beach . "I thought it was a party ." I said getting out . "Well a small get together . This is where me and my friends meet up every now and then to have fun." She said as we walked onto the beach where her friends were. " Okay guys this is tyla . Tyla , this is taylor , michael , chris , august , and angelique." she said introducing us . "Hi." I said smiling a little. "She's pretty." Michael said. I laughed. "Thank you ." I said. "Dang. She just got here and you already tryna flirt." August said laughed. He's cute. I mean all the guys are cute but he caught my eye. "Where you from ?" Taylor asked. "Virginia." I said softly. "You are pretty though." She said . "It runs in the family." Alex said making everybody laugh. "Thanks taylor ." I said . "Oh , you can call me tay." She said. We sat around for the rest of the night joking around and laughing. Her friends were cool people to be around .
