There was a small tremor in your hands as you dialed the phone number.
Ring.
What if he doesn't answer?
Ring.
He's probably busy.
Ring.
Saving planets and their people.
Ring.
Or maybe he's found another...
Ring.
It never takes him this long to answer....
Ring.
Probably should just hang up....
Rin-
"Hello?" he answered, clearly out of breath.
"Doctor?" your breath hitched.
"Yes?" he said. You could here the smile in his voice. "Sorry, I couldn't get to the phone right away. TARDIS repairs, you know. Anyways, why'd you call?"
"I miss you," you blurted out without any thought. You could feel blush creep to your cheeks.
"Ah, well you know that I'm always here, ____," he replied softly.
"I know," you smiled sadly. "Just haven't seen you in a while, I suppose."
"Yes, it has been quite a while."
There was a moment of silence before you asked, "When will you visit again?"
"Oh, you'd like me to stop by?" he asked with a naïve tone.
"Yes..." you told him sheepishly.
"Well, then. Guess I'll visit you," he said determinedly. You heard the whipping and whirring of gears.
"Wait, you mean now? I'm hardly presentable!"
"Rubbish, ____!" he shouted over the noise. "You always look fantastic."
"Oh, but still..." you said, worriedly. You were in casual clothes with messy hair.
It was quiet for a bit. No TARDIS noises or anything. "I don't have to visit if you'd rather not see me...."
"No, no!" you said. "Please come by!"
"I knew you wouldn't pass me up," he chuckled.
"Oh, shut up," you grinned. "And just hurry."
"So, what're you wanting to do once I get there? Eat dinner? Watch movies?" he suggested.
"You'll get a hug if you're quick."
"Ooh, hugs," he said. "I love hugs."
"But only if you get here," you reminded him. "You have a time machine, you could've been here before I asked."
You felt a light tap on your shoulder. "You know me too well."
"Doctor!" you yelled, hugging him tightly.
"_____!" he yelled with the same enthusiasm, hugging you back.
"How did you get in here?" you asked when you pulled away. "I didn't hear you land."
"The TARDIS is in the back. I let myself in from there," he explained. "Forgive me for intruding."
"You never intrude, Doctor," you smiled.
He pulled you over and sat down on the couch with you. "Tell me, what have I missed?"
"Not much really," you sighed. "I have had a mundane life after meeting you."
"Oh, that's no fun. Go out, see the world!"
"Yes, but," you mumbled quietly. "What's left to do when I've seen all this world has to offer?"
"Travel with me..." he whispered.
"With you...?" you asked, a bit dumbstruck.
"Yes. I've..." he began to blush. "I've missed you, _____."
You felt a little overwhelmed, turning away from him. "Doctor...."
He grabbed your hand, making you face him. "Please, _____? I want you to travel with me... I need you to."
"You don't need me. I'm sure you do fine on your own," you said, then thought again. "Right?"
"No, trust me," he said, tenderly holding your face. "I need you."
You blushed, and nervously whispered,"S-show me...."
He gently pulled you closer, laying his soft lips on yours kissing you slowly. You were surprised for a moment, before kissing him back softly, running your fingers into his dark brown hair. He kissed you deeper, letting one hand fall from your face to your side. He broke the kiss for air, laying his forehead against yours.
"I've wanted that for a time," he admitted with shallow breath.
"Why, Doctor?" you asked, curiously. "I'm just an average girl, nothing amazing or spectacular...."
"That's not true. ______, you are a very brilliant person and I-" he caught himself. "And I want you to travel with me."
You got the feeling that wasn't what he was originally going to say, but you smiled nonetheless. "I will, Doctor."
"Oh, thank goodness," he said, looking genuinely relieved.
You grabbed the Doctor's hand and looked up at him. "Ready?"
"Of course," he said, giving you a small forehead kiss. "Let's go."
