"𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧, 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥! What's next, they start resurrecting the dead just to kill them again?" Cass huffed, slamming the article against the Gryffindor table.

Purposefully walking past the Gryffindor table to taunt Cass, Severus seethed, "like I said, Cassiopeia, you should watch your back. Who knows who the next pureblood gone might be-"

"Fuck off, Severus-"

"Or, you never know. The next half-blood gone might be your beloved Kaycee, remember her?"

Furiously standing up - and before anyone could stop her - Cass stormed over to Snape and roughly grabbed him by the collar, his smirk faltering into a distraught expression.

"Don't you ever, and I mean ever, say anything about Kaycee. Ever. Again. Or I swear on Merlin's life you won't live to see tomorrow. And just know, I'm a woman of my word. Understand?"

Daunted by her reaction, Snape stiffly nodded. Releasing her grip on his tie, Cass shooed him off before returning to sit at her table.

"Cass. I swear I have no idea-" James started but was interrupted by an infuriated Cass.

"How he knows? Oh, really. Cause last time I fucking checked, you're the only friend who knows about her! So, explain that, Potter! I trusted you with that- with everything I said. Fuck, you don't see me going around to everyone telling them what you said, eh?"

"Alright, my turn. Who was your favourite childhood friend, and are you still friends today? Why or why not?" James asked the last question of the night, seeing as it was starting to get darker by the minute.

"Honestly, I only really had one proper childhood friend. My old neighbour Kaycee. We were as close as you and Sirius. She was the first, and one of the only, people I have ever met who actually liked me for me, regardless of my parents."
