Olivia packed up her belongings into cardboard boxes, carefully labeling the contents of them.

"Are you almost done, sweetheart?"  Her mother called from the other room.

Olivia stood up and brushed dust off of her legs.  "Yeah, I just finished the last box.  I'm ready to start with the move!" She called out.

"Wow, this room hasn't looked this clean for nineteen years." Her mother teased, her sentences laced in a thick country accent.

"Hilarious." Olivia smiled and picked up a box.  "Let's pack everyone up in your truck.  Dad said he'd meet us in Flordia to help unload everything.  I don't think my roommates will be there today.  Nick had texted me that they were visiting some friends."  She explained the plan to her mother.

Her mom's face scrunched up.  "Are you sure it's a good idea, living with boys?"

Olivia rolled her eyes and laughed.  "Of course, they're really nice I promise.  Plus, they play video games for a living, they're harmless.  It's a cheap arrangement for me, and a perfect location."

A bead of sweat rolled down Olivia's forehead and she wiped it away with her shoulder.

She still wasn't used to the Southern heat, spending most of her years up in Michigan with her father.  They had divorced when she was 6 and her dad had gotten main custody of her.  She spent most summers with her mom in North Carolina, but it never felt like enough time.  When she was picking colleges, she wanted one in the south, so she could be closer to her mother.

"Alright, sweetheart.  If I get any funny feelings though, we're turning right back around."  Her mother waved a finger at her, but sighed and picked up a box.  Her daughter had grown up in a blink of an eye and she wasn't ready to let her go quite yet.

Olivia was an extremely talented editor, having worked with many YouTubers and companies throughout her schooling to gain experience.  She had gotten an amazing opportunity to work with Universal Studios in Orlando on a movie they were doing.  They offered to pay for the rest of college, along with the project.

Olivia's previous employer, a rising YouTuber, had set her up living arrangements with two streamers who happened to live in Orlando.  They agreed to pay for her share of the rent as long as she helped do their editing in her free time.  Juggling school, a job, and side projects was going to be tough, but Olivia's dreams were finally coming true.

Olivia pulled her mom's truck into the driveway of the apartment complex, as Google Maps announced their arrival.  She pulled out her phone to text her roommates.

My Roomies

Olivia
Hi! I'm here. :))

Sapnap
Oh okay great!  The key is under the potted plant

Dream
Let us know if you need anything Olivia! We should be back tomorrow. I'm so sorry that we weren't here to greet you!

Olivia
Oh, no worries guys. Have fun! No rush!!
Also, the potted plant is a very obvious hiding spot😳

Dream
Ouch that was my idea smh

Olivia slipped her phone in her back pocket and retrieved the apartment key.  She put the spare key on her keychain and smiled.

"Hey, mom over here!" I motioned for her to come into the apartment.  It smelled like cologne, with a hint of dust behind the smell.  It was pretty well picked up, but there was a lot of clutter.  Despite there being a lack of decorations, many figurines and posters were on the wall.
