The Dragon Guardians, And my brother

Chapter 1: Flashback

-12 years ago-

"Run!" my brother screamed.

"Fire! Run!" Someone screamed outside of my house. 

And I did, I felt the searing flames engulfing the other homes. I ran and ran, my brother, leading the way. We ran to the edge of the lake. My brother abruptly stopped. I hid behind him. It was so hot your eyes could feel it. Surrounding us were burning homes, flowers, trees, and all kinds of shrubbery. My brother pushed me into the water. When I emerged on the surface a hooded figure was dragging him away. I swim out of the water and start following them yelling at the top of my lungs. Shadow dragons circled in the air. The other mages tried to stop them but in vain. My heart was screaming. They are taking my older brother! I scream and scream like there is no tomorrow. The hooded figure looks up at me. I can see his dark cold eyes.

"GIVE ME MY BROTHER!" I roared at him. 

He just stared at me and kept dragging my seven-year-old brother's struggling figure away. I ran after them but I was too slow. 

"NO ONE TAKES MY BROTHER AWAY!" I roared again.

 But he paid no further attention to me. My brother stepped on his foot and kicked him in the stomach. The hooded figure yelps and grits his teeth and drags him further, faster. I am five, I'm a big kid! I'm going to get him this instant or that man will pay. I trip and fall on a root on the ground, but when I stand up again he is gone. He was coming back, right? I start crying. I hear voices in the distance. Smoke was rising above the trees. My father's familiar figure rushes over to me. I run to him, hugging him, crying my heart out."T-the scary m-man, he took him, he took  Jasper!" I whimper. My father looked into the woods with tears in his eyes. He never cried, this was the second time I ever saw him cry. Boreas was gone. One delton I know I'll bring him back. I will spend my whole life doing it. I just want one glance at him. I cried as we made our way back to our village.
