You were laying on the couch on your balcony overlooking the cityscape of Coruscant, the bright lights of the skyscrapers like stars against the dark blue sky. You slowly drifted off to sleep as flames from the fire pit danced in front of you, casting shadows of warm light across your face.

Your rest was soon interrupted by the loud bang of a door slamming. Startled, you peek around the headrest and see your boyfriend, Anakin Skywalker, stomping around and mumbling curses under his breath. Not wanting to disturb him, you pretend to be asleep.

You squint your eyelids just enough to see him amble over to the railing of the balcony, gripping onto it tightly and hanging his head low.

You quickly shut your eyes as Anakin turned his head, noticing you, and quietly walked over to where you were peacefully laying. To your surprise, he plopped down on the couch behind you with a sigh, wrapping his arms around you and burying his face into your neck.

You felt Anakin's tension and stress fade away as he held you, and you couldn't help but smile as you felt his breathing slow down, falling asleep. You could tell he had one of those days. After about 10 minutes of just cuddling; the only sounds being the crackling of the fire, Anakin's quiet snores and the occasional hum of an airspeeder flying by; you struggled out of his grip and turned around to face him.

You watched him slowly wake up as you played with his tousled up hair. You tilted your head, gently brushing some stray strands away from his face, "You okay?" Anakin shook his head and hugged you again, pressing the side of his face onto your chest, as you felt his heavy breathing fan across your collarbone. That was all you needed to confirm he had a rough day.

After a minute, he spoke to you for the first time tonight, "The council never takes me seriously. They never will. Even Obi-Wan still looks at me like I'm a child." He sighed, you guessed that he wanted to get that out for a while now.

You looked at the fire in thought, "Ani, even thought it may not seem like it, the council respects you, and understands you. The Chosen One prophecy is something the Jedi have been waiting for for centuries; they're just nervous."

He looked up at you from under his long eyelashes, "And what about Obi-Wan? I'm not his Padawan anymore, and he still acts like I don't know anything."

"Anakin... you know the reason why Obi-Wan is so protective of you? Why it seems that he must always take charge, or that your opinions aren't valid? It's because he loves you. He's known you since you were a child, and is afraid of losing you."

He looked down in thought.

You continued, "And besides, what the council thinks shouldn't bring you down. You're still the most powerful, smart, and cutest Jedi I know. Chosen One or not." You smiled playfully at him and he pulled himself up to be at your eye level, "Did I ever tell you how much I love you, (y/n)?"

You pulled him into a kiss, and he kissed back but then pulled away, looked you deep into the eyes and said, "No, really. All jokes aside, you are the main thing keeping me grounded right now. I don't know what I'd do without you."
