~Chapter 14~

}Luke’s P.O.V.{

The pizza came hours ago but there was still a quarter of the pie left. Natalie and I had finished cleaning and fixing up everything in and outside the house. It was around 8:30 and we were sat on her couch, side by side, with Natalie’s head resting on my shoulder. We just finished watching our third movie and I decided it was time for me to go home, but as I sat up a fragile pair of arms grabbed onto my torso.

“Don’t leave. Can’t you stay the night and watch more movies with me?” Natalie looked up at me with those eyes that always persuade me to do whatever she says. “We have tomorrow off, remember?”

“Alright. Let me call my mom first. She thought I was coming over just for my backpack,” I said as I pulled my phone out of my back pocket.

I went into another room and called my mom.

“Luke?” I heard my mom’s worried voice over the phone.

“Hey Mom. Sorry I didn’t tell you I was staying longer. We ended up studying and doing our homework together,” I lied about the last part. If I told her I helped Natalie clean up the party ‘she’ had last night my mom would think she’s a stuck-up brat when she isn’t even close.

“It’s fine. When are you coming home? Do you need me to pick you up?”’ she asked. I heard the doorbell ring throughout the house. I hoped it wasn’t Natalie’s ‘friends’. They scare me a little bit and I probably would have to find out a way to sneak out of the house.

“Uh. Actually, I was wondering if you are okay with me staying here for the night. I promise nothing will happen. We’re just really good friends,” I said quickly and more quietly, afraid if Amber and the twins were there they would here me. (Going back to when Luke was talking. Does anyone else think if this were a real situation Luke would totally freak out if his mom thought he was doing something dirty. No? Just me? Ok.)

“Yeah, that’s fine do you need me to bring stuff over?” There was some quiet yelling coming from the hall.

“No. I’m pretty sure Natalie has some stuff I can use.” A door slammed. Probably the front door.
