One day I showed Skylar the alleyways. I said that they can get you almost anywhere in the city. "Be careful when your alone"  I told her, "there are some weird characters in these places." One night she took me to have dinner with her and her parents. She wore a beautiful emerald green dress. I had dressed in a black tuxedo with a small gravy stain on it. "Where do your parents work?" Skylars mom asked. "Um, well my dad walked out on us when I was young, and my mom died when I was um eight." I was starting to get nervous when they started whispering to each other. "Well who do you live with?" asked Skylars dad. "Um, well I kinda live on my own." I looked down, embaressed. "Maybe he can live with us" Skylar says. I look up at her and smile. "Well Skylar, I don't know about that... I mean maybe." Her dad says. He turns to see his wifes glare. With a defeated face, he says "ask your mother." Skylar turns to her mother with pleading eyes. "Oh fine, he can stay with us." She says. "oh yay! thank you mom I love you so much. You too dad." She kisses them both on the cheek and skips up the stairs. "Well I guess I'll go home and start packing. Thank you for the dinner ma'am, it was quite delicious." I said with a nod. Her dad stops me at the door, "J please promise you will protect my daughter." I nod my head in agreement and walk out the door.
