"AN escort would be unnecessary, Your Majesty" Ilya said as she sighed faintly, the King standing by her side as they stood outside of the Citadel's main entrance "I'm only going around the city, not going out on a crusade and I've already done this a few night ago"
"And the Crystal is protecting the city, there's nothing here that can pose as a danger to me" Ilya said, trying to persuade the King into letting her go on her own "Besides, there are only a few things that could hurt me"
"Nonetheless, Ilya. What would you do if you got lost in the city?" King Regis said with a frim shake of his head "Insomnia is a large city and you have no means of contacting me or any of my courtiers should you get lost"
Ilya let out a defeated sigh as she nodded her head, awaiting the arrival of her escort, whoever they may be. When she caught the familiar figure of someone, she fought the urge to scoff. Of course, why would the King urge her to have an escort when she was capable of taking care of herself?
"Ah, now I see why you insisted on me having an escort" Ilya said as she let out a breathy laugh, shaking her head at the King's antics "I appreciate the help, Your Majesty, but I think I can handle this on my own"
"That's not what I hear from rumors" King Regis replied as he gave her a small smile.
"Since when does the King of Lucis listen to pointless gossip?" Ilya asked with a tilt of her head.
"Only when it concerns those dear to me" King Regis quipped, shifting his attention to the approaching Glaives.
"Your Majesty" Drautos said as he greeted the King with a curt nod of his head "Nyx Ulric, as you requested"
"Your Majesty" Nyx greeted at a mention of his name, his eyes peering over to Ilya. She kept her attention on the King, despite feeling Nyx's burning gaze.
"Ilya here wishes to go around the city" King Regis said as he motioned to her. At the mention of the word city, Drautos immediately handed the keys to Nyx "I trust that you'd keep her safe, yes?"
"With my life, Your Majesty" Ilya resisted the urge to scoff, knowing well that if the encountered danger, which was highly unlikely, she'd be the one to risk her her life and not the other way around.
King Regis, satisfied with Nyx's answer gave him a curt nod of his head. At that, he shifted his attention towards Drautos "Ah, Captain there are details of the upcoming..."
