CHAPTER THREE: We Will Rock You
Lucy usually loved the weekends. The splendid days where she didn't have to be forced into the library with EJ, the days where she didn't have to see James Potter strutting into class and she especially liked it because she could annoy Addy, Scorpius and Albus without having to leave for class.
The weekends were practically a blessing to life. You could relax and 'chill out' as EJ liked to say, not worrying about one assignment or essay you had to complete because McGonagall had stopped people from sending their students homework to do on the weekends after one girl, a Ravenclaw sixth-year, fainted in the library and then it kept happening all over the classroom with several other students.
The Mystery of the Fainting Students.
Lucy perked up when she spotted her three favourite younglings on their way to the Slytherin table for breakfast, each of them laughing loudly to one another as they took the seats next to each other. Addy's dark brown hair was tied up into a ponytail behind her head, which Albus constantly kept tugging on causing a whole riot to happen.
"Shut up, Addy, before I send an owl to mother and father!" exclaimed EJ, slamming her fork onto the table as she glared at her sister who glared right back.
"You don't have the right to speak to me like that, Ember Marie Zabini," Addy mocked, sticking her tongue out at her.
Albus laughed and then turned to Lucy, his face brightening up, "Guess what we just saw."
Lucy leaned forward towards him, looking up at him with mock interest, "What did you just see Little Potter?"
"Another soldier down. Tristan Gregory, Hufflepuff. Poor boy just collapsed in the middle of the corridor while holding at least five books. I reckon he was studying for OWLs. Merlin, people are just dropping off like flies," he said enthusiastically grinning broadly as if it didn't bother him that he had to take his OWL exams next year.
"I heard just the other day that Chantelle Tran was found in the library last night, almost covered in piles and piles of textbooks," Scorpius said, trying not to laugh his head off. "She's only in her third-year so I have no idea what she's so worried about."
"You say that like you weren't third-years last year," EJ chimed, stabbing her fork into her toast, creating a whole bunch of little holes.
Lucy was about to dig into the Pygmy Puff'Os that she had acquired after many years of begging Professor McGonagall when a loud bang sounded through the hall and everyone's eyes snapped to the entrance of the Great Hall. The entire Slytherin table seemed to erupt into loud groans, Albus burying his head into the empty bowl in front of him. James Potter stood at the entrance, his wand out in front of him, somehow blasting Drake's 'In My Feelings' throughout the entire hall.
This, of course, wasn't out of the ordinary as it was Gryffindor against Slytherin in the Quidditch match this Saturday. He did it every single day they had a game, just so he could attempt to distract Slytherin. That's what you get when you've got a lunatic as your Quidditch captain.
His friends, Fred the second and Lorcan and Lysander, by his side all of them wearing Gryffindor Quidditch robes. They walked in as if they owned the bloody place while people just tried to block out the music and continue eating their breakfast so they could head to the pitch.
"Does he have to pick Drake every single time? Can't he at least choose, I don't know, Celestina Warbeck?" Lucy heard Victoria whisper to Alexandra who whispered back, "I don't think he knows who that is."
Lucy glanced at Albus who looked like he positively wanted to murder himself on the spot. His face was buried into his empty cereal bowl and she doubted he would care if it had milk and Pygmy Puff'Os in it. He simply wanted to Avada Kedavra himself. Scorpius and Addy both patted him on the back simultaneously. The same routine they had ever since James had become Quidditch captain. Whoever gave him that title must've been out of their goddamn mind.
