The Lone Witch [Black Butler]

Chapt. 8

~Claude's POV~ 

We finally arrived at Northdale High. It looked the same as the other schools we have been at. Just last night another incident occurred. Things are a lot different here, and the humans dress differently than us.  

"I feel like we're going in circles. What do we hope to find here?" His Highness questions Ciel Phantomhive. 

"Some answers hopefully." Ciel replies back. "This is the closest school from the other ones. Another school was shut down again, and it seems like this matter is not going to end anytime soon." 

As we walked down the hall, a young girl almost ran into us but stopped herself. She was panting a bit as she looked at us. 

Just after one whiff, I found her scent intoxicating... 

She had long blonde hair and the deepest blue eyes as she was dressed in red and black checker buttoned up long sleeve shirt, a black skirt, and black thigh highs. But I could also smell something else inside this girl. 

"Sorry." She quickly said before running off. 

Her scent isn't like the other humans we have passed by. She is different from the others for some reason. 

How interesting. 

~Melody's POV~ 

"It's alright, Melody. It'll be okay... I'm sorry that happened to you." The hawk tells me as we were both outside during lunch. I told it about what happened earlier and about Andrew saving me. 

"I don't care... I'm over it. I just can't get my mind off that boy, Andrew. That was the first time...somebody has done that for me." But I shouldn't get my hopes up. All of this is a one time thing. It's not like he's going to save me again. He just happen to be there at the right place at the right time... 

"Melody?" 

"Hmm? Sorry. I was lost in thought." I shake my head a bit. "Will you walk home with me again after school?" 

"I don't mind at all. I'll see you soon." 

"Goodbye." I said and the hawk flew away. I went back inside the building and headed to my next class. But I ran into the same boy from earlier. Andrew. 

"Hey, Melody!" I'm startled as he catches up to me. "How are you feeling?" 

"What?" I blink in confusion. 

"From earlier. On the roof?" 

"O-Oh... I'm fine... Thank you again..." I frown and look down at the floor to avoid eye contact. "I was just on my way to class... You should do the same..." I turn on my heels and hurry to class. But Andrew speaks, 

"I don't go to class." 

"You don't?" I look back at him. 

"Why would I? They're not really teaching us anything. They're basically lecturing us useless knowledge and putting us all to sleep with those lectures." He shrugs his shoulders. 

"The...why don't you just stop coming to school?" 

"Well, you know." He shrugs his shoulders again.

"Okay." I go to class again, but Andrew kept stopping me. 

"Hey, wait." He grabs my arm, causing me to yelp out of fright. This causes him to let go. "Sorry. I didn't mean to grab you like that." 

"Don't worry about it..." I sink my head into my shoulders. 

"I've seen you around. You're very distant with everyone else. Why?"

"Because I rather be alone..." I hold my books closer to me. 

"And you're fine with that?" 

"I'm use to it..." I frown again. "I gotta go..." I didn't want to talk anymore and I didn't want to get close to him. I'm never close with anyone. He's going to end up being like everyone else anyway. He's no different... 

After school I walked home with the hawk flying above me. "Did you see those people who came into your school today?" 

"Who?" I look up at the hawk. 

"The people who were dressed very fancy and looked rich." 

"Oh, them. Yeah I saw them. I almost ran into them on my way back to class earlier today. They were probably enrolling to the school." 

"They're a bit young to enroll into a high school. And they two older men were dressed like butlers." 

"I don't know what to say." I shrug my shoulders. When I get home, I set my things down and head to my studio. 

I have my own little studio where I can play and write my songs. It's not much, but I make it work. Which reminds me... 

"In a few days the full moon will rise." I look at my calendar. I wonder which song will I perform.
