-----------------

Two weeks. That's how long you've been stuck with the station's stale air.

After your argument with Cliff, you and Ronnie decided to stay in. You didn't want to upset anyone when all you two wanted to do was live your life freely. Of course, that wasn't an option during a zombie apocalypse. You two had to play the cards you were dealt.

"It doesn't matter...as long as we are together, right?" Ronnie told you this the next day after your run-in with Xavier's henchmen. You hated to admit that he was right, knowing that he was the only thing you needed by your side...and he didn't leave it for these two weeks.

Cliff and Mindy were more than happy to run out and gather supplies, knowing that it was safer for everyone if you two stayed in. It was almost like a vacation, only boring. There wasn't much to do around the station after going through every reading material in the first few days of staying in.

You read the case files on Ronnie and Mindy's desk, finding out the worst thing that happened in Centerville was Farmer Miller getting his chickens stolen. It was such a calm and boring town. You would have enjoyed it during the normal days.

Floating from town to town, you had to worry about a lot of things. Packing light and not growing attachments to anything or anyone. You were glad Centerville was the last place you came to. Otherwise, you wouldn't have found Ronnie.

After the case files, you and Ronnie sat in the holding cell while he told you stories about the citizens of Centerville. How Hermit Bob went to high school with Cliff and decided to drop everything to live in the woods. Hank, the owner of the hardware store, would go to the diner every morning to have a cup of coffee with Lily and Fern. Bobby from the gas station would hate when people called him Bilbo Baggins. Ronnie always thought it was rude, considering Bobby was one of the nicest guys in town, just a bit misunderstood.

"What about Jenny and Tim..." Your voice was timid as you turned your head over to Ronnie, seeing how he pouted his lips. You watched as Ronnie wrapped his arm around you, pulling you closer to lay your head against his shoulder. It wasn't your fault that you wanted to know more about them, knowing that they were targeted by Xavier.

"Well, you know they were high school sweethearts." Ronnie mumbled, looking down at you. Your eyes shifted over his face, seeing the stubble starting to grow. You hummed up to him as you lifted one of your hands to his face, softly swiping your thumb back and forth over his new facial hair.

It suited him...

"Together for twenty-something years..." Ronnie licked his lips down at you, leaning into your touch. He hummed to himself, looking between both of your eyes.

"They would come by the station every week, donating clothes and always bringing lunch to Cliff, Mindy, and I." A soft smile spread across his full lips, causing you to scoot a little closer to him.

"Would they bring coffee for Cliff?" you couldn't help the smile spreading across your lips as you looked up at him. You watched as he chuckled down at you, nodding his head.

"How'd you know?" Ronnie's voice was soft, turning his head to kiss the inside of your palm. This made you giggle up to him as you watched him. His facial hair prickled your skin as he continued to leave soft kisses against your hand.
