Moving Out

A year later

Rose's pov

The light was falling through the window allowing me to clearly see the photo behind the glass. It was a picture of mom, dad, Hugo and me. We were all giving the camera a goofy smile, while standing in front of a huge ride in the amusement park. It was mom's idea to go to the amusement park. She often took us to muggle place on the holidays to "embrace the muggle in us", as she liked to say. A little laugh escaped my mouth, but the tear that was rolling down my cheek was evidence that I was sad.

There was a knock on the door "Hey, you ok". It was mom, leaning on the door frame, hand still on the door. I took a quick sniff and wiped my tears away and gave her a smile. "Ya just packing up the last of it.." I gestured to the two open boxes on top of my bed.

Mom sighed while moving more into the room. " It's really happening isn't it" she said, sitting on the bed and looking up at me. " Ya" I said while joining her on the bed. She gave me a side hug and then we both just sat there looking around at the almost completely empty room. It was almost unidentifiable without my things.

I turned my head to look at mom, only to find her already looking at me. She gave me a small, sad smile " You know we are all going to miss you, even Hugo". I gave her a sad chuckle, "Mom I'm only moving like thirty minutes away, you can apparate in any time". She moved the hair out of my face and traced my freckles gently.

" I know, but whose gonna leave her dishes in the kitchen sink and scream at Hugo for the mess in the bathroom."

" Don't worry I will always make time to scream at Hugo".

Mom chuckled and got off the bed and headed towards the door. " Come down soon, Al is here to pick you up".

"Hey you ready to go" Al said giving me a toothy grin. " Ya, where's Scorp ?" I asked looking behind him to fined no one there. " He said he will meet us at the apartment."

"Oh okay" ,I hope every thing was fine, "Can you but the last few boxes in the back of the car".

"Ya okay"

I turned around to look at mom and dad. " I'm really gonna miss you, promise you will call me if anything is wrong" dad said while giving me a kiss on the head. "Promise" i said looking up at him.

" And you " I said pointing a threatening finger at Hugo " Promise me you will call if there something wrong or...... if you want to get out of this crazy house"

"Only reason I'm not sad that your leaving" he said laughing "I'm gonna be around a lot"

We had one big family hug. "I'm gonna miss you guys a lot" I said before getting in the car.

I really am gonna miss them.

Albus's pov

Dad was really happy when I told him that I was moving out. But I know he was just happy cause I was going out and starting to live my life and be independent.

And the fact that James stayed with us for two years after he graduated may have added to why he was happy about me moving out this soon.

Mom on the other hand was not entirely happy about the idea. She liked that I wanted to live on my own and be independent. But at the same time she thought I was too young and was not ready for the world.

But with dad trying to convince here and me using the words "You can't shelter me from the world forever" every now and then. She agreed and said I could move out but not with out giving me a whole lecture on being responsible and taking care of my self (and rose).
