The death of the Stoker couple didn't go unnoticed. Lately, the city of Bakewell was aware of these crimes. But nobody thought Mara, the poor girl who lost her parents, could be the one who killed them. The girl in question; wasn't sorry about her acts. The only traces that the murders left was the cracked skin on her neck and her hand. Her brother, who heard about their parents' demise, returned to the manor.

- Mara, my sister! I'm so sorry... I left you when Willow passed away, and now it's Mom and Dad...

- Sorry? You are sorry! You left me alone, you abandoned your own little sister in the worst moment of her life. You're just an egoist Branwen.

- Mara please...

- Oh "please"! Don't beg me, I'll never forget what you did. But don't worry, I'll compel you to stay with me...

As she talked, Mara got closer to his brother and put her hands on his shoulder. Branwen was taller than her, but it didn't scare her, quite the contrary! It made her more excited thinking that she had the authority. She spoke again:

- Bran', tell me, do you remember the meaning of your name?

- Mara, what are you talking about? It's not the time for-

- Tell me! She yelled.

His brother, more and more scared by her sister's behaviour, thought in the first time that their parents' death affected her. But glancing at her hand, a feeling of unease gained him.

- Hum. Yeah, let me think a second. Branwen means something like raven, no? I've never understood why mom insisted-

- You're right, brother. A raven. And from this moment, you'll become my raven Bran'. You will never leave me behind: you will always need me to live! Only if I let you live then...

Without understanding what happened to him, a black mist enveloped him. Branwen started to shrink, her skin changing into feathers, her lips into beak. Before his transformation was completed, Mara looked in his eyes and said:

- It was me. I killed them. She pronounced these three-last words in a whisper.

The same Machiavellian laugh as the one in the forest rang out.
