I look out the window at the city view. Bustling people, loud noises, crowded streets, bright lights.... I despised it all. I look away when I hear the door open, thankful for something different to look at. She's standing there. "What do you want?" I ask her, I see her physically jump then look up at me with those innocent honey colored eyes.

" I wanted to see if every room was the same. Slightly disappointed they are." she responds.

"I know when someone's lying. I have a baby brother." She looks at the ground again with that. then sighs.

"Alright you caught me I wanted to get to know you better. Mostly because it'll be best if we team up together."

" Why would you think that?"

"We're the only ones we can trust.... even if it's a small percentage.... you know, because we went to the same school, we even lived in the same town!"

"........ Really? I don't remember you."

She looks at me, eyes wider than they were before in shock. "You... don't remember me at all?"

"Nope."

"Well I know who you are, Alexander Mayson. You were top at Seaside High School, you even one the swimming contests 4 years in a row. Plus every single fish you've caught has a hook jole so small that you'd need hawk eyes to see!"

I look at her surprised. ".... How.... how do you know all that?"

"You... uh... were kinda like my idol for a long time."

That sentence changed my mindset for the whole game. I couldn't help thinking, I don't wanna kill you anymore.

I sigh, pinching the bridge of my nose trying my best to hide the small bit of red that flooded my cheeks from her sentence. " I'm.... uh.... flattered? I didn't know I would have people looking up to me..."

"Really!? There was a whole club dedicated to you!"

"That's taking it a bit far....."

She smiles at that, that's when I realize she has dimples. "I thought so too! I didn't join it only because it was a bit too much.  But I'm glad I didn't. They followed you everywhere, like stalkers. They even stole some of your stuff, I and others told the headmaster about it but he just brushed it off, saying," with her next words she lowered her voice trying, and falling, to do a impression of Mr. Willson,"' I don't thinks it harming anyone.'"

"So that's where my pencels went!" I exclaim putting the pieces together. That earned a small fit of laughter from Lyinx.

"I remember you looking around in your locker with your friends around you teasing you because you couldn't find them!" she replies still laughing.

"Yeah.... they sucked. I remember one of them actually helped me look once, then he decided it wasn't worth the effort and went to buy me a new one from the vending machines..... I wonder what was going through their heads when I was picked..."

"I'm sure they felt sorry, and sad that they might lose their best friend, but like I said before, you're amazing at everything!"

"Not at keeping friends..." I say looking out the window again. I can see her reflected in it. Looking at me kinda sad. Then she walked up to me knowing not to try and pick up the same conversation, she stopped next to me and looked out the window with me.

"You have a better view than me." Lynx said kinda bluntly.

"Really?" I replayed not taking my eyes off the window knowing I'd only fall even more into her trap, that I was sure she was setting.

"Mhm. I have a billboard in my way. Really unlucky. We're just. What? Twenty feet away from each other? And you got a better view."

I chuckle a little,"Yeah that is really unfortunate!"

I can see her looking at me from the corner of my eye. "You know, if you take a picture it'll last longer." I look at her, seeing the admiration in her eyes before she blushes a little, getting caught and looks out the window quickly.

"I have no idea what you're talking about!"

I roll my eyes and look out again waiting for something to happen only to discover I liked the silence. She looked at me again and asked "So, you have a younger brother? Can you tell me about him?"

"I thought you said you know everything about me."

"Well I know everything about what you do, not everything about you."

I glance at her then back out the window focusing on the bridge in the distance that was currently lit up like a Christmas Tree. " He's really kind, and smart. But he's also really talented and innocent... he was our mothers favorite, he was always super close with her. He was born weak so he had to stay in the hospital for an extra couple of weeks. So mother was always with him in case something happened. After a while they grew very close, and they had a special bond that no matter how much anyone tried no one could recreate that bond with my mother or my brother."

" He sounds like a really nice kid."

I smile at that statement remembering a nice memory from when we were both kids when he got mad at me because I caught a fish and he didn't really like it. "Yeah he is."

That's when it happened, I heard the clock strike 00:00.(12:00am) I looked at her, "You should probably go back to your room and get some rest. We have our first training day tomorrow."

"Sad... but yeah you're right." she lets out a breathy yawn then stands up. She then smiles and as she says, "Good night!'' She gives me a pat on my head, then leaves the room with a small wave. I put my hand where she had previously had her hand.

"Yeah.... good night."

With that I run my fingers through my hair once then twice before tucking myself under the covers then whispering a small, "Goodnight Jaxson, Luca, Mom, Dad. Hope I can come home soon." With that I closed my eyes and slowly fell asleep only to be woken up 6 hours later because of a little disturbance called Lynx Green.
