Annoyed I turn my alarm off. It's 6:00. I sit up and stretch. Sliding of my bed, my feet padded themself into the bathroom. Taking a well needing shower, I think of today's activities as I tied my hair back into a ponytail. I choose my clothes, a white t-shirt, black oversized hoodie, and loose jogging pants. Realizing it was already 6:45 I run to my bathroom. Carefully washing my face, I add a serum. I pull my curly hair into a bun, annoyance gathering through me as my bangs kept popping out. Deciding on slicking them back, I curse when it turns 6:55. I slid down the stairs. Mom's standing there. I pull on my hood, grab my keys and then.. "Did you eat?" Her spanish accent calls. "No Mami, pero I might be late. Don't have time." She sighs, hands me a granola bar, and kisses me on my head.
When I pull up to school everyone is surrounding something. Whatever it is I know Kate will tell me, so I don't dwell on it. The school is empty. Surprisingly. Kate comes up to me. Her hair holds a flower pin I know way too well, her floaty flower printed dress tells me two things. She tried to match and hot boys- or a boy- have come to our school. I know because she always does this when that happens. "One boy, one girl. Nick Gomez. The girl is Nick's sister, her names Julia. Nick is a singer and actor. Julia is a singer too." I nod and shrug. "So, do I look nice?" I smile and nod. I wasn't lying either. Her red hair has been left out and with a perfect amount of freckles, I wanted to be her. She smiled. "Okay love you." Then she turned and left. Walking into the history room, I take a moment to admire it. Old art of landscapes cover the walls as well do old writings. Scrolls and books scatter it and paintings of important people are hanged. Honestly just a really nice room. "I would have thought you've be outside. With the rest." I jump, startled. "Didn't mean to scare you." I turn around. A pretty girl with short wavy brown hair and deep blue eyes, with brownish skin had spoken. "I'm Julia." She puts out her hand. I turn around and walk to my chair and plop in it. She still has her hand out. But then a grin comes across her face.

The teacher walks in, shakes her head in disbelief, walks out. She walks back in two minutes later, kids coming in mumbling.
"Okay kids, in the middle there is Julia, please-" A boy walks in. The teacher smiles. "Mr. Gomez, try to be on time tomorrow. But happy to have you join us." A couple kids snicker. He rolls his brown eyes. He had brown skin and wavy brown hair. He was cute, but looked rude and a player. His gaze follows every single one of us and lands on me. His eyes stay there. Ms. Alla raises an eyebrow. "Instead of gazing sit down." Assh- I mean Nick sits down next to me, even though the whole time the girls where crying out to him, begging him to sit with them. Pathetic. As the teacher starts talking, so does Nick. "What's with the hood?" I ignore him. "So what's your name?" I don't answer. Kate, who's sitting next to me, rolls her eyes, no longer excited about Nick. She carefully slides a paper to me. Ew. I smile before writing back, right don't see what you saw about him. I slide it back to her. I hear her try to cover a laugh. After a moment she slides it back. Honestly. Nick, who was watching all of this asks, "Whatcha talking about?" I ignore him. "Alright so we are doing a project of four." I glance at Kate, she nods and smiles. " I'm picking your partners. " The whole class groans. I don't know what I was thinking, who would the other two people be anyways. The teacher starts calling out names.
"Amy, Zach, Leah, and Sarah. Ms. R, Julia, Kate, and Nick..." Ms. R is what the teachers call me, the students call me a freak. They call me Ms. R because my last name is Rodriguez. Kate rolls her eyes and smiles. She taps out at least I have you in Morse code. The only message we know by heart besides I love you. I smile and nod. Julia raises her hand, Nick is now beside her. "Yes, Julia?" She gives the teacher a smile, "Who's Ms. R?" The teacher rolls her eyes before mumbling, "The only other kid in class on time." Julia's eyes widen but she chuckles. She turns towards me, grabbing her brothers hand, dragging him towards us. "Hi. Kate, right?" Kate nods. Julia is about the talk again but Ms. Alla interrupts, "Now that you have your partners, let's talk about the actual project. You're gonna be with this group the whole year in every class, so become friendly with each other. Now the first part of this "project group" is, I want you to choose a place and find out it's past, put the information on a poster board. I also want drawings, I don't care if you can't draw good. Do it anyways. Pick your place with your group, put it on a piece of paper and put it in the bin."
