The Blind Assassin

Chapter 5

Zuka's Pov:

They must really think I'm stupid, ever since Hange dropped me off at my decoy apartment their goons have been following me around. It's been a little difficult trying to act normal walking to Ukai's everyday, staying in that empty awful apartment. Don't get me wrong I'm sure it's beautiful but it's not my home.

For one I there was no food when I got there the first day, nor were there any silverware or cups. Everything was at my real home in the woods, and now all of my groceries were going to go bad. I just bought those too. 

"They need to give it a rest already," I groaned to Athena as I sat on the stiff sofa. "How are we going to sneak away, another shipment of Cocaine is arriving in a few days and I can't very well stop it if they are still around." 

Athena laid her head on my lap, she wanted to go home too. I could tell she missed the quiet and the fresh air, and the occasional rabbit to chase. I rubbed her head and tried to keep my feet off the ground as much as possible here. I didn't feel like seeing everything that went on in this crummy building.

I groaned and picked up the phone "Siri call breaker." The phone started ringing my fingers massaging Athena's ear as I waited. The other line picked up a few rings later.

"We have a problem," I didn't bother with a greeting they knew who I was. "They've been following me and I can only assume they have some sort of dirt on me. I need you and the others to find out what it is and destroy all evidence." 

"Yes boss we will get it done." They replied quick and to the point. "Anything else you need."

"I need you to lead them in another direction, if they continue poking around in my business it could get real ugly real quick." which was very true. "There is a new upcoming gang in the southwest region put some of the see if you can put some of the product in their warehouses. Ukai will give you the tip so you can inform Levi and Erwin. Stay close but stay low." 

"On It boss we won't let you down" They hung up the phone and I threw mine on the table. Yes I have my own little gang, it would be dumb to work alone. 

Even though the Titans were more or less disband after my parents died and the other gangs took over. There were still members loyal to the family we've been planning this for years. A select few have been webbed into the three major gangs and in the smaller ones giving me information. 

I had the whole city webbed in my palm. I grinned and leaned my head back everything was going to plan, well mostly. From the little vibrations from my watch It was now 7pm. I don't usually go to bed this early but with this fake routine I have going on I have to get up for an early morning jog, then a quick shower, and off to Ukai's for work, then back home with leftovers, a shower, and off to bed, maybe a little of TV "Watching".

Honestly the routine wasn't bad it helped keep me in shape, but I still enjoyed having my off days ya know. Plus all of this helpless acting is so hard and annoying it was like a hopeless soap opera. 

"Come on Athena time for bed," I patted her head and she hopped off of the bed "Tomorrow we can go for a walk in the park I know you miss the grass." 

She yipped and wagged her tail, it thumped against the couch and she ran to the room. I cringed as my feet hit the floor and I was bombarded with all of the vibrations. At least it wasn't as bad as the city but I still hated it. I sprinted to the room and hopped on the bed.

I had already changed into my pajamas so I didn't have to worry about changing. I was wearing a baggy T-shirt and short shorts, my hair was in a messy bun I think I wasn't sure. Ukai usually does my hair for me, but when he isn't around I just leave it down or in a pony tail. Like I said before I never cared about looks, mine or others not seeing gave me a different perspective on life.
