What's done is done. Move on. Tomorrow is a new day a new start.

Hongjoong let out a loud yell rather childishly, letting out an equally loud huff as he threw himself onto his own bed.

"Hongjoong, calm down. Your dad is just trying to look out for-"

The prince flipped his body over, glaring at the speaker. "San! No, he's not! You don't fucking understand! My dad is such a hypocrite and I just- argh!!"

After the man bringing a message of death interrupted the royal dinner session, Hongjoong's father sent Hongjoong back to his room (escorted by San) because he "needed to discuss this alone because it's a serious, private matter."

San gave Hongjoong a look. "He's the king. You know that there are some things you aren't ready for-"

Hongjoong interrupted, exasperated. "But that's the issue! He's such a hypocrite! He tells me oH, yOu nEed tO fOLLow mE aRoUNd eVErYwHeRe sO yOu cAn lEaRn hOw tO bE tHe nEXt rULer oF oUr pErfECt kiNgDOm bLah blAh bLAh bLah and then he pushes me away as soon as something that I'd probably have to learn to do in the future happens. Like, make up your goddamn mind! Ugh, stupid fucking shitty..."

San walked over to Hongjoong and sat next to him on the bed. "But you do know that what happened in there isn't something that you should deal with anyways because you aren't the king yet. You're still only the prince and this is a serious problem. Only the king should deal with it."

Hongjoong tried to keep up his argument, but he knew San was right. "B-but it still doesn't make sense. He wants me to take over and is forcing me to follow him everywhere so I could be jUst liKe hiM, but how am I supposed to do just that if he won't let me see this... I don't even want to be like him, anyways. His ruling is so... shitty."

San quirked an eyebrow, a bit of confusion flickering across his facial features. "What do you mean?"

"Do you not see how he acts? Do you not see what he's done at all? He's done nothing for the people! Everything in here is so flawed, but he doesn't see it because he's royal, yet I see everything! When I sneak out, I see that the-"

San raised a hand. "Wait, what? You sneak out?"

Hongjoong let out a huff. Maybe he shouldn't have said that. "Well, uh, yeah, but that's not the point! What I'm talking about is just our kingdom below us, is literally in shambles. Not everyone is happy, most of the time the people are trying so hard to get by and it's so stupid. It shouldn't matter that we are royal and that we are more privileged, we should... we should be using that to help them! And-and my dad literally doesn't care at all. If there's an issue, then he's like, whAteVEr, gO bE hApPy! If someone dies, oH nO, aNYwAys. Literally, do you know what he fucking does, San, do you know what he does?"

San blinked. "Uh, no(?)"

Hongjoong threw his hands out angrily, laying down onto the bed. "If some sort of crime happens and the public gets riled up because the person responsible couldn't be found, he fucking chooses a random person off of a list to execute just so that the public would calm down, even if that person didn't do anything wrong! Don't you see how screwed up that is?"

"Well, yes, but-"

Hongjoong slammed his hand onto the bed, continuing his rant. "He's so selfish, and just so stuck-up and he literally doesn't care about anyone lower than him and that makes him such a flawed ruler. I hate him and I never ever will follow in his footsteps. He shouldn't be on the throne anyway if he doesn't know how to fucking rule properly. A king should rule fairly! A king should rule with the public in mind because that's what their job is! To help the goddamn general public! How can one be so goddamn incompetent, I swear, and maybe it'd be better if he was gone so I could make sure that our kingdom actually feels like a safe place and not a place where everyone lower fears for their own life just for existing. Maybe this place would be better if dad died!"

San's eyes widened, a bit taken aback by Honjoong's words and volume. "Hongjoong! Calm down! Do you hear what you're saying? You may disagree with your dad's ways, but he's still your dad and he's still the king. You can't say things like that. Once you take over, you can rule the kingdom however you want, but right now you have to at least respect your father's ways. I may... not agree with it either, but I know that I can't disagree because I'm, erm... l-loyal."

Hongjoong ran a hand through his hair and let out a sigh, sitting back up. "I guess you're right San, even though I don't want to... admit it, but... my dads ways are just getting out of hand and it's not ideal. The way he goes about things is just so flawed and it's because he's blinded by his own power. But yeah, you're right, I guess... I just wish things are different. Thank you, San, you and Wooyoung just... you guys are the best and I don't think I'd be sane if you both weren't here."

San gave Hongjoong a small smile, wrapping his arm around him comfortingly.

"Of course, but I'm just doing my job. But yeah, I'll never ever betray you and I'll always be there for you, so don't worry about that. Wooyoung and I are here to stay and loyal to you until we die."

A/N i wonder if any of you guys know where this story is going. do you have any ideas of what might happen (there's some foreshadowing in the past few chapters that if you look really closely, you could probably figure out what might happen hehe ;)

have a nice day, people!
