The rusty yellow vehicle drops us off and I start my 5 minute trek back home just to ransack the pantry and head over to Maylyn's house. As if on cue my sister snatches one of my ear buds from my ear and babbles on about her day and how 'awful' it was.
"I mean who would put the red lipstick label on the black lipstick? Sherry never even saw it coming and then she didn't even have any makeup removers!" Allison was just blabbing and thankfully it took my mind off the fact that it is so cold outside. The time also seems to fly by as Alli just keeps talking about her day and within brain seconds we're home and warming up.
I instantly trudge to the pantry and grab the box of Cheez-it's and take the tray of blueberry muffins and stuff them inside a fabric grocery bag. You know the ones you take to the grocery store to 'save the planet'. As I yell my goodbyes and ensure that my mother that I will be back by 7, I creep out of the door and grab my beautiful, lavender colored bicycle.
I make my way up Seabury Avenue and turn right on Chesnut Lane and I am there in a few. It was like she knew that I had just arrived because, the door was opening by the time I made my way up the cracked front steps. Through the living room and passing by Mrs. Faith and Chelsie, her little sister. And on my way to the kitchen I find myself picking up their cat that was originally named Luna. But they had to change the name when they found out it was actually a boy so now it's name is Luno. Maylyn blames it on the chick they got Luno from saying that he was a girl all along.
We stalked into the kitchen and planted ourselves on the counter and just chatted for a while as we snacked on the Cheez-it's and muffins.
"Girls, I have told you numerous times how I feel about you sitting on the counters." Mrs. Faith was the fun mom and she always knew how to make us smile in one way or another. We slid off the counters and Maylyn received a swat to the back from the newspapers in her mother's hands.
Meanwhile Chelsie is trying her best to sneak in and steal some food biut, everytime she thinks she's progressed Maylyn catches her and scolds her. Although she constantly tried she never quite got it until I snuck her some food and she left us alone for the remainder of the time that I was there. \
Being that Maylyn is a straight A student homework was a breeze and passed by very quickly meaning that we had more time to just hang out with each other. But as we were just about done there was an algebra problem that neither of us could figure out. It almost took us half an hour to solve it but, we did it. I know right. Worst. Nightmare.
The TV was switched on and we found our eyes glued to the screen that was currently showing re-runs of The Walking Dead. Honestly we just loved the show and fangirled over any awesome zombie kill. Specifically if the killing was done by the one and only Darryl Dixon. He is just a great character and put the fact that he wasn't originally in the TV series to start with makes it a lot more fascinating.
As we watched show after show I found myself spending the night at Maylyn's place. But, in order for this to happen there was about 5 different calls going from Mom to me and while we were on the phone Maylyn was trying to persuade her mom. In the end it just worked in our favor.
The sooner we settled ourselves meant the more time we were going to be on our computers trying to find new games to entertain our teenage brains. There is this game that she found very amusing, which is quite disturbing if you ask me. In the game you operated on a patient and with different scenarios. The one she liked the most was the knee replacement. So while I am sitting next to her I am also hearing the nauseating sounds come from her computer.
We didn't sleep much at all but, we did have a very fun night filled with video games and reading fan fiction chosen for each other. We made a delicious breakfast of pancakes and scrambled eggs with bell peppers inside. It got pretty messy as we decided it to be fun to start throwing handfuls of pancake batter at each other. And that's when it stopped because, Mrs. Faith walked in. Yeah we ended up cleaning it up but it was a spur of the moment kind of thing. I am not entirely sure if she was amused or disappointed with us.
I decided after breakfast that I should probably head back home. "Do you have everything? I know Maylyn likes to take things from you and never return them." It's true she's probably stolen a whole outfit at one point and I didn't even realize it.
"Yes, I am pretty sure that I have everything that I came here with," I responded and made sure that May could here me and she did. Poking her head out of the kitchen and glaring at me and, I glared right back at her.
Biking in the morning is quiet and relaxing with the colors blurring by as I ride my bike as fast as I possibly can so that the chilled air doesn't catch up to me. But instead of getting home quickly my bike had a different plan in mind and threw me into the curb. I guess I didn't realize the extent of the accident until I stood up. As I did so I found I had a couple scratches up and down my legs along with a minor gash on my right hand. As well as the feeling of a bruise above my elbow. As I tried to get to my bike I could feel a sharp pain in my left ankle and when I went to examine it seemed to throb with my pulsing heart beat. I debated whether to call my mom to pick me up or to man up and just walk the two minutes it would take to get to my house. The inner debate was over when I just picked myself up and hobbled down the street.
The walk to my house was as excruciating as watching the doctor stitch my busted lip up. The worst part was that the garage door was locked so I had to walk all the way over to the front door. My mom was in her office and my sister in her room watching who knows what when I arrived all battered up. I didn't even bother walking any further as I closed the front door, I just dropped my phone on the table in the entryway and collapsed on the floor. Mom scurried out of the office and was playing 21 questions to figure out what happend but, I was in too much pain to answer her in full sentences.
She eventually figured out what cause my pain and by then my sister showed grace upon us and joined the chaos. They both used whatever strength they had at eight in the morning and hauled me into the kitchen and sat me down in a chair. They assesed all the wound on my legs first and by the time we got to the bandaging stage I was done with my tears.
It took a total of about half an hour to clean and bandage my cuts and to find the ankle brace. The rest of the day I just sat in the living room and watched TV and when I needed something Alli came and made sure that I had everything that I needed. I eventually grew tired of having her get everything and got the things myself when I needed them.
