I was practicing my piano piece that I had composed for the upcoming Christmas gala. I heard that it was sponsored. I am curious about Xavier. From the beginning, while he was introducing himself in front of the class, I really don’t think he’s ordinary. Almost a month had passed I couldn’t believe myself. He was so gifted. He does not even listen to class and even gets scolded for being asleep, yet he always gets the highest mark in every exam. Behind his spectacles and grunged up dark brown hair, a fair complexion hides. One of the qualities a pampered person is. He said he got into the school not because he’s rich but he got a full scholarship. I really don’t know who he really is. I kept saying to myself that it’s none of my business. Some secrets are meant to be hidden and to be protected. He really is mysterious. The way he walks, talks and even read a book while drinking coffee gives me goosebumps. I was about to leave the room when he comes in. I looked at him and realized that he’s not wearing his eyeglasses. He reminded me of someone. He noticed me looking at him curiously, put his eyeglasses on right away. “What are you doing here?” I returned to my seat and began to practice again. He walks slowly, close to me. He picks something in his pocket. Without me noticing he held my shoulder and said,
“I should have given this to you before. I know it is very special to you.” He was about to hand me something when Lester burst out of the door. He ran the same with Xavier leaving the room.
“Hey! Where are you going. You need to see this.” Lester said. He showed me the magazine.
“This is circulating in the whole campus. Do you recognize him?”
In the cover of the magazine lets just say a sixteen year old based on this complexion and height sat in a regal chair and the other who stood beside the chair are said to be…
Fournier Group. The most prominent, powerful and leading company in the world. The spokesperson of Fournier Group Mr. Jorge Anderson declared on behalf that “The long awaited heirs of the multinational conglomerate company has been revealed.” Why had they kept their heirs cloaked for almost sixteen years?
“I think so…” I paused and carefully looked at them.
The older one who was sitting reminds me of someone I know. His hair was dark brown and straight thin layered hair, a fair complexion and his height must be six feet two inches if he was standing. The way they look and wear, they seemed to be very pampered and in a total bliss their lives were. Suddenly, I realized. Isn’t Xavier’s name is Fournier?
“Does it ring a bell?” Lester kept on insisting.
“No!” I lied, “Why do you keep on insisting?”
“I got to show you for you to believe.” Lester held my wrist and started dragging me across the hallway.
“Let me go okay, I will follow you.” I said, “Where are we going?”
“We need to find Xavier.” Lester said anxiously. We ran across the cafeteria and into the gym, but there was no sign of Xavier. We were running when the bell rang. “At last.” We went to our classroom.
The teacher began to check the attendance. When Xavier’s name was called he was not present.
The magazine was everywhere. I looked around and saw the girls were giggling while the boys were cursing. I was listening to the lesson I didn’t realize that I was asleep. Before I was caught sleeping, I forced myself to be awaken. I looked around, good thing no one noticed me. Some were listening to the teacher, others were still browsing and reading the magazine without the teacher noticing them. I astonished when I saw Xavier in front of me. I looked at Lester who was also sleeping until I punched him and nearly made a scene in the class. We looked closely at Xavier who were as usual, sleeping. “Hey, you there” Our teacher said. I thought he was referring to me and Lester. “Mr. Fournier” Slowly he held his head up and rubbed his eyes.
