The Temple

The group had all gotten a long rest. Chrom, Darios, and Frederick had woken up first. They packed up their things and Frederick went to prepare something to eat.

Cynthia, Lianna, and Rowan woke up shortly after. They were fairly happy to be greeted by breakfast. (Cynthia and Lianna were especially happy said breakfast wasn't bear meat)

Paimon woke up around the same time as Cynthia and the twins. And, like them, was fairly excited about the food.

The group was awake, and about to start eating, but noticed someone was missing.

The group looked over to see Aether, still fast asleep.

"He's still not awake?" Darios's eyes widen at the sight of the still sleeping traveler.

Paimon floats over to her companion. She smacks him on the head repeatedly and tries to shake him awake.

"Aether, c'mon! We have food, you can't still be asleep!"

The traveler doesn't budge. He was still deep in a dream.

Aether was in a glowing room. It was bright, like a pure white void. It seemed to continue on forever. The air inside of the void was suffocating.

"Aether." A feminine voice says.

Aether's head whips around to look for the origin of the voice. His eyes widen as he sees who it came from.

The girl stood tall, smiling somberly at the traveler. She wore a white dress, and had short blonde hair, decorated with flowers and feathers.

"Lumine!"

Lumine's expression suddenly became stoic, and devoid of any emotion.

"I'm sorry Aether..." Lumine says.

"What are you apologizing for?!" Aether cries.

"I can't go onto the next world with you just yet. Though we need not rush, brother. I have more than enough time to wait for you, we have always had enough time..." Lumine smiled sadly.

Lumine turns around and began to walk away from her brother, ignoring her twin's cries of protest.

"Lumine, wait!"

Aether began to run after his sister.

Lumine's wings appeared on her back as she began to fly towards a strange portal.

"Lumine!" Aether's wings reappear as he flies after Lumine.

Lumine flies into the portal, the portal closing behind her.

Aether flies through the portal, but only remains in the bright void, his sister nowhere to be seen.

Aether finally loses control of his tears as he begins to break down.

His sobs are cut off by a loud crack.

He looks up to see a glowing crack in the void. The crack began to spread, the void beginning to break apart.

Finally, the void shatters, turning from a bright, white void, to a pitch black one.

Aether's wings suddenly disappear, leaving him suspended for a moment, before he begins to fall deep into the dark void.

Aether screams in terror, begging for Lumine to come back. He desperately tried to make his wings reappear, only for his efforts to be in vain.

"Aether!" A tiny voice shouts.
