Every day, Everette worried that her and her friends would be caught, that she'd lose Valorie and Cypress. She couldn't handle that, Everette could never lose them, over the time they'd spent together, they'd become so close.
Sure Valorie had a new way to protect herself, but that power hadn't fully developed yet, Everette still worried about her being taken.
One night while the others were sleeping Everette decided, "Tomorrow, tomorrow the hiding is over." She repeated to herself until she fell asleep.
In the morning, Cypress woke up first as they usually did. Everette woke up second, immediately taking down her tent and walking twords the nearest city.
"Where are you going?" Cypress asked their snowy friend.
"We're done hiding. I'm going into town and I won't come back." Everette replied
Cypress quickly packed up and wrote a note to Valorie. They swiftly followed Everette.
Later, Everette and Cypress were talking about things.
"So, Ev, What's up with you. We weren't really featured much in the last chapter so now's our chance to have character development." Cypress said.
"Huh?" Everette questioned.
"I'm just curious as to what's going on." Cypress replied
"Well Cy, we're friends, so I can tell you something without you telling Val, right?" Everette asked
"Sure thing." Cypress said.
"Well..." Everette seemed nervous.
"Come on, Ev, you can tell me anything." Cypress said, patting Everette on the head.
"Well, um, I don't know how to say this, but uh..." Everette looked at the ground.
"But what?" Cypress asked
"Well, I, uh, I think I have feelings for Valorie." Everette stuttered.
"Really?" Cypress asked. "That would mean-" Cypress was interrupted.
"I already told you! What, did you forget?" Everette shouted at Cypress.
"I'm kind of an airhead." Cypress said, embarrassed, looking at the ground. "Maybe you should tell her. I mean the worst is that she says no."
"That's the point! I don't want our friendship getting awkward because she doesn't like me back." Everette said.
"She's been giving off some sort of vibe when she's around you. That she likes you." Cypress admitted.
"Really?" Everette asked.
"Yeah." Cypress replied.
The duo finally got to the city.
"We're here." Everette said.
"What now?" Cypress looked at Everette.
"Assimilate into society." Everette replied.
