one month later
It has been one momth since Lexie and Mark had found out that the miracle in Lexie's stomach was a girl. That meant Lexie was currently 5 months pregnant and also having mood swings. Mark was pretty lucky until this month hit..now it just consists of Lexie wanting constant massages which that he didnt mind but also wanting taco bell at 3 in the morning or crying over absolutely nothing.

They had just moved into their new home, it was absolutely beautiful and Mark kept telling Lexie that she couldn't go into the Nursery because he wanted to surprise her and today, he had finally finished up.

Lexie giggled as Mark led her over to the room that would be their baby's room. "Okay, Lex. Keep those pretty eyes shut" Mark said, smirking and Lexie bit her lip, "hurry! I'm so nervous and excited!" Lexie exlaimed as she squealed a little.

Mark took a deep breath then opened the door, "okay, open up" he said as he stepped to the side. Lexie opened her eyes and instantly covered her mouth as tears formed. In the room, the walls were painted to a pretty pastel pink with cute pictures hung up on the wall with the crib in the corner and a rocking chair on the other side with a white bookshelf food of children books and a toy chest with toys and stuffed animals. There was also the changing table where they would take turns at cleaning their baby.

Mark noticed the tears and bit his lip, "I shouldve known to let you do this- i-im sorry baby-" Lexie then cut him off with a kiss. "Mark, don't apologize..please. This is absolutely amazing. It's so perfect.." She went to the one wall where some pictures of the family were and couldn't help but to notice one of Susan Grey. Lexie took a deep breath, "I'm gonna give birth and my mom isn't going to be there.." She said as the realization of her mom not being there on the day of their daughters birth finally hit.

The older man walked over to the brunette and wrapped his arms around her from behind and kissed her shoulder, "you never know..she could be there right beside you and you wouldn't even know.." He said softly.

Lexie wiped at her eyes and nodded, "y-yeah..I'm just being annoying.." She laughed through her tears and Mark shook his head. "You have every right to be upset over that, Lex" he kissed her head.

Lexie nodded slowly, not wanting to talk about it anymore so she quickly decided to end the conversation with something else. She turned around and smiled a little, "I get why im home because I can't work anymore until a while after the baby is born but don't you have a job to be doing?"

Mark groaned and pulled away from her dramatically. "Remind me laterrrrrrr" he sighed which caused Lexie to laugh, "oh come on you old fart. I'll drive you" she took his hand and they both left with smiles on their face.

Once they got to the hospital, Lexie parked and set her hand on her stomach. She didn't tell Mark but her stomach has been feeling weird lately. Mark noticed and frowned, setting his hand on her stomach. "You okay?" He asked, concerned.

Lexie snapped her head up and smiled, nodding quickly. "Me and our princess are doing perfectly fine. You have nothing to worry about. Now go fix faces and save lives" she leaned over and kissed him.

Mark kissed her back for a moment longer then leaned over and pressed a kiss to her stomach, "you be good for mommy" he said to her stomach which caused Lexie to smile brightly. She watched as he got out but got confused when he came to her side and bent down to the window, "I love you, Lexie Grey" he said seriously and Lexie smiled, kissing him quickly. "And I love you" she said softtly.

Once he was gone and into the hospital, Lexie drove back to their new home. Wow, if anyone told her just a few months back that she'd be living with Mark and having a baby with them, she would've put them in psych.

As Lexie got out the car, she felt another sharp pain rush through her stomach, causing her to lean against the car and take deep breaths, hoping it would soon leave like it usually would. She tried to pull her phone out to call Mark but the last thing she did was fall to her back as everything went black.

I know this chapter wasn't long but I needed to update this story for all of you amazing people so here it is! I recently got covid and then I had to catch up with school work and my job so it's all just been super stressful but as for right now, I'm back! Xoxo
