Hey guys! Just wanted to say one quick thing. You'll read that Hiccup and Astrid's children are born with a mental challenge. Now, the reason I'm writing this is because Hiccup's reaction isn't usual. It's not offensive, just not normal. Hopefully you've known this from the beginning, but I would never write anything to discriminate or hurt people. Again, as I've said a few times, I wrote this when I was 13. I wasn't as 'educated' as I am now. Just wanted to let you guys know that I never mean to hurt or make people uncomfortable in any way! 😁💕💕

Chapter 47 (Hiccup's P.O.V)

Mum has been staying with the kids for the last couple days as Astrid and I have been at Gothi's. We had been told by Gothi that Astrid was due any day, and that she wanted us to be right there when it happened.... today was the day. It started of with Astrid's contractions, but worse than normal. I was fearing the same thing I feared when the other twins were born, that Astrid could die of pain. I was holding her hand and she was squeezing hard. As she kept wincing in pain I said in a soft voice, "Your doing great, Astrid." I said as one of Gothi's nurses told Astrid she needed one more big push for the first twin to be born. The boy was born, the only one left was the girl. The girl took about 5 pushes to be born. When Astrid was holding the boy, the girl came is later. As Gothi handed me the girl one of her other nurses said, "their both healthy, but you will notice a difference in the little girl's face." I looked at the boys face and then the girl's... there was a difference. "Why is that?" I asked. "She has Down syndrome, she will be able to walk. But you will sometimes have trouble understanding what she is saying. It will make some difference to the way she speaks if you teach her words at a young age." I looked back down at her and lightly stroked her face, "we'll do our best." I said as I smiled and looked at Astrid and she smiled back.
