"Hey girl, open the walls play with your dolls we'll be a perfect family."

I was sitting in my bedroom comfortably covered by my blanket while reading a book. I was interrupted by the sound of something hitting my window. I ignored it, assuming I was just hearing things. It wasn't until I heard the noise a second time that I knew I wasn't hearing things. I closed my book and walked over to my window to see my good friend Michael standing there bundled up.
"Michael what are you doin' here at this time of night?" I asked, shivering a little from the cold air outside.
"Come out!" He yelled, a mischievous smile on his face.
"Boy it's," I looked at the clock up at my wall. "10:30 pm. I ain't goin' out this late, my momma gon' kill me."
"Please?" He begged. "It won't be for long I promise."
I squinted at him for a minute before rolling my eyes. "Fine! But if I get in trouble, I'm whoopin' ya ass."
He squealed in excitement as I put on my jacket, gloves and hat. I crawled out of my window and carefully jumped down.
"Where are we even gon' go?" I asked when I met up with him.
"I don't know." He shrugged. "I just needed to get out of the house."
I sucked my teeth and we walked out of my neighborhood into the night. There was a comfortable silence before I broke it.
"We can go to the convenience store and get some late night snacks!" I offered and he smiled.
"Okay bet!" I grabbed his hand and we ran as fast as we could to the store. It wasn't that far away so we didn't get extremely tired while running.
When we walked inside the cashier looked up at us and furrowed his brows. "What are y'all doin' out this late? Ain't ya parents worried?"
I scoffed bitterly. "No. My momma would prolly be glad if I went missing."
He furrowed his brows at me and put his face in his hands. "Why do ya say that?"
"She doesn't like me." I said. "She's constantly reminding me how much of a burden I am to her."
They all stared at me sympathetically but I just shrugged. "It's ok though. I'll be aight."
I walked around the store and took some chips, candy bars, and soda. When I finished paying I walked out the store, Michael trailing behind me.
"No snacks?" I asked, shoving a Twix in my mouth.
"Not hungry." He said shortly. I shrugged and we continued walking silently.
"You know." Michael said quietly. "I can relate to you in a way."
I furrowed my brows. "What do you mean?"
"You know how you said that you mom doesn't like me." I nodded. "Yeah well my father is kinda like the same way."
"Oh for real?" I said sadly. "I'm sorry about that."
"Yeah." He continued talking. "He'll beat me every time I mess up a step or something and constantly remind me how ugly I am."
"That's awful." I told him and he nodded. We continued walking before an idea popped into my head.
"Hey, I got an idea!" I said and he raised a brow. "Let's make a promise that we'll always be there for each other, no matter what."
He stared at me and held his pinky out. "Okay but you have to pinky promise."
I looped our pinkies together and smiled. "I pinky promise."
Moesha
"LaToya! Come on!" I yelled from her bedroom door. I flopped down on her bed and waited for her impatiently.
"I'm coming!" She yelled from downstairs. A few minutes later I heard her coming upstairs quickly. "Sorry for taking so long, the popcorn took longer than I expected."
"It's okay!" I reassured her. I took the bowl from her hand and checked to see what kind she made. It had chocolate and caramel drizzled on it, which was my favorite.
While I ate some pieces, LaToya stretched her arm over me to grab my remote, her hand lightly touching my thigh. My face flushed heavily but it ended as soon as it was over.
She put on our favorite movie, The Little Rascals, and laid her hand on my shoulder lightly. I felt my body become extremely warm once again.
LaToya was probably my beat friend. We had met through my younger brother Michael, who was actually friends with her younger sister, Zuri. I was extremely drawn to her extroverted personality and we have been close ever since. But know I'm starting to think I have other feelings for her: Romantic ones.
And I have no idea what I'm going to do.
Jordan
I stared at my stomach in the bathroom mirror with a frown on my face. My mother was right, I was bit chubby.
"Jordan?" My vocal coach, David, asked from the other side of the door. "What are you still doing in there?"
"Oh sorry." I said while turning on the water to wash my hands. I opened the door and David was standing there with a kind smile on his face.
"David can I ask you something?" I asked as we made our way back to the practice room.
"You can me anything, Jordan."
"It's kind of embarrassing." I said sheepishly. "But do you think I'm fat?"
He stared at him before lightly chuckling. "Your a very beautiful girl Jordan. Your body is just fine."
I thanked him and smiled to myself. David was like the father figure I never had, he would never lie to me nor hurt me.
