"Everyone thinks that's we're perfect, please don't let them look throw the curtain."

"Are y'all ready?" My momma asked from outside our dressing room. We were getting ready for our upcoming show and we were trying to put on our outfits.

"We're trying." Jordan groaned. "But these clothes are tight."

"Yeah are they even our size?" Moesha asked.

"Shut up and squeeze yourself in 'em." Momma snapped at us.

"Okay damn." I mumbled under my breath. When we finally got in them, we walked out and our momma grinned widely.

"I don't like it." Jordan said uncomfortably and I nodded in agreement. The crop top, mini skirt, knee length socks and sneakers wasn't something I would usually wear and it felt too revealing.

"It's not about what you like." Momma snapped again. "It's about what they like." She opened the curtain a bit and revealed the crowd. There were some people who were our age but majority of the crowd seemed to be older men.

"Why do you we have to perform for a bunch of grandpas?" Moesha asked with disgust written all over her face.

"Because they pay better." Momma explained. "And it's all about the money right?"

We stared at each other, uncomfort written all over our face. Before we could say something, one of the people came over to us clutching a clipboard close to her chest.

"Are y'all ready?" According to her tag her name was Alexia. "Y'all are on in 2 minutes."

"Yea we're ready!" Momma said with her fake cheery voice on. Every time we were near people, she acts all sweet and kind but we all know how she is behind doors.

"Aight go do what you gotta do." She said once the lady left. "Y'all better not mess up or no meals for the day."

"Okay." We mumbled in unison before walking out to the stage.

After an hour of performing, we took our final bow and ran backstage. We were led off with cheers and wolf whistles. Usually I would like that, but considering the age of the crowd I wasn't to fond of it.

"How did we do?" Jordan asked while changing into her sweats.

"Alright I guess." Momma shrugged. We all looked at each other and rolled our eyes, no matter how well we did our mother would never admit it.

While our Momma went away to wherever, me and sisters talked about our performance. While we were talking, one of the older men from the crowd came up to us.

"Can we help you?" Moesha asked, eyebrows raised.

"I just wanted y'all young ladies that y'all really did a good job out there." His voice was low and gruff. "Especially you." He said while pointing at me.

"Um thanks..." I muttered.

"That's all, right?" Moesha said while stepping in front of me, in case the man tried to do something I guess.

He smiled at us creepily before nodding his head. "That's all."

I paced my room nervously. I had called LaToya up a few minutes ago to come over to my house since I was finally going to confess my feelings for her. I was nervous at how she would react and how this would affect our friendship since we have been friends for forever. Eventually, I heard a knock on my door and I opened it to see Toya standing there.

"Hey Moe!" She smiled. "What's up?"

I moved out the way so she could come in my room. "I've got to tell you something...important?"

"Okay," She said eyeing me weirdly as she sat on my bed. "Spill."

"Well you know how we've been friends for a while-very close friends if I'm being honest-and I just-."

"Stop beating around the bush, Moesha." She interrupted. "And just spit it out."

"I like you!" I finally confessed. "A lot."

She stared at me for a few seconds before cracking up in laughter.

"That's all?" She said once she got herself together. "I like you too Moe. We wouldn't be best friends if I didn't."

"Not like that Latoya."

She stared at me before her eyes widened in realization. "Oh!" Was all she said.

"Yeah..." I said while twiddling my fingers as we stood in an awkward silence.

"I don't know what to say I..."

"You don't have to say anything!" I said quickly. "I just thought I should yet you know."

"Okay!" She said while getting up. "If that's all, imma get going now. It was nice talking to you."

I waved goodbye to her and when she left I threw myself on my bed and screamed at the fact that I probably just ruined the best friendship I ever had.

"I wanna do something different today for our lesson." David said when I got to our classes today.

"Like what?" I asked.

"Well I started writing a song a few days ago." He said while getting up and walking over to his desk. "And I just finished it and I want you to sing it."

He handed me a piece of paper with the words "Age Ain't Nothing But A Number" written on the top.

"It's a good song." I said after I finished reading it. "You wrote it?"

"Mhm! Are you down to sing it?" He asked.

"Sure!" I shrugged. "Let's go."

After 1 hour of recording, we finally finished the song. We listened to it back and it sounded really good.

"I have a question." I said when we left the booth. "Why did you have me record this song?"

"Well me and your mother were talking," he started. "And we want you to release a solo album."

"A solo album?!" I cried before something hit me. "Wait, what about my sisters?"

"We'll talk about them later." He said while waving his hand. "But you have a really beautiful voice and we really think you could have a successful solo career. Are you down?"

"Of course I am!" I said super excited.

"Okay but before we start, we have to do one more thing first." He stared down at me and licked his lips slowly.
