"Now I will learn how to feel alive again."

"So what the fuck
does a consultant do?"

My first day out of Neverland. Fresh air and sunshine. The wind blowing through my hair.

Yeet

The streets smelled like ass, the sky was grey and the wind was trying to carry my ass away. I fucking hate Virginia and this bipolar ass weather.

My spirit father, Aaron Hotchner, was currently trying help me adjust to life outside of Supermax, aka Neverland. Taking me shopping for cloths and other female necessities. He even got me an apartment payed for by the Bureau until I can pay for it myself for the job. It's was a nice flat with some dirty ass floor to ceiling windows that slanted a bit.

As of now, we are in this retro diner the Hotch thought I would like. He said , and I quote, 'the milkshakes are a taste of heaven.' He wasn't lying.

"You will assist us on cases. Providing us help with your vast knowledge of serial killers and how to proceed in their arrest. You know more about these kinds people than most profiler. Having you know the team will help us very much in the long run of catching the criminals." He said.

Stirring my spoon in my chocolate milkshake, contemplating his words. It didn't tale a genus to how that this was a good deal, but it was too good of a deal. The head of the fucking FBI doesn't just let out a ciminal from Supermax to help catch the crazies.

"Don't get me wrong. I love being without that itchy ass collar from Neverland, but come on Aaron. I'm 18 won't it be a little weird having a literal child on your nerd squad. It's not like you can call me a genius" I said before taking a big gulp of my drink.

"You and I both know you are as far from being a child as anyone else I've known.  Besides even though you're no Reid, you do know more than even the above average profiler. " he said striking the curious vein in my body.

"Who's Reid?"  I asked.

"You'd find out if you're fully prepared to accept your role at the BAU." he rebutled with a smirk on his face.

"Don't go using my curiosity against me dicktip. You know that shit pisses me off." I said snarkly causing him to form a small smile.Over the years he's gotten used to my sassiness. Leading me to believe that he secretly enjoys it.

"Hotch there's something your not telling me. What is it?"I said as I take a sip from my milkshake.

Damn it. Now its was started to melt.

"What makes you think I'm hiding something?" he raised an eyebrow in curiosity at my accusation.

"Well, for one, there is no way in hell the head of the FBI was able to get me out of Neverland without adding something else to the table."

"What was the second tell?"

"You're not looking me in the eye and you've only blinked 4 times per minute since we've started talking when you normally blink twice that when you're being genuine. Your body tenses up when I speak. You're trying to make me think nothing is wrong with your calm demeanor, but your forgetting who you're talking to. " I said. He looks at me impressesd.

"You're right. I am hiding something."

"And that is?" I asked.

"You are allowed your freedom as a consultant for the BAU- so long as you assist in few operations when asked."he said lowly.

"So I'm not really free." I laughed.

"You are-"

"Not if I have to do this. Shit I might actually want to go back to Neverland." I said darkly

"You don't mean that.

"Don't I? Hotch you know better than anyone that I'm not gonna have this same 'New freedom New me' attitude if I go out in that kinda field."

"I do know that which is why I have been give a time frame. You have 4 years undisturbed then if- and only if- they need your expertise you will be asked to do a covert mission."

"Asked my ass."

"I can guarantee you that working in The BAU will be worth it. All you have to do is trust me, kiddo." He spoke softly. He reached across the table to grab my hand. I look at our hands then into his eyes.

He's telling the truth.

"Fine. I'll work with your stupid fan club." I sighed, pulling my hand away from his and finishing the last of my chocolate milkshake.

Damn that was good

I flag down the nice waitress from earlier. She was talking to an older man at the counter. It looked like he was flirting with her though she definitely didn't mind.

"Hey miss? Can I get another for the road?" I asked.

"Sure sweetie!" She smiled brightly.

She came back with a big styrofoam cup filled with chocolate deliciousness. I take it happily while doing a my little happy dance in my seat before getting up.

"See ya Monday boss man." I said.

"Oh and it's on him!" I said to the waitress as I make my way to the door.

"Where are you going?" He shouted turned around in his seat.

"I going back to the apartment." I said in a duh tone.

"Do you remember the way?" He asked. I couldn't help but laugh.

"I remember everything."
