After what felt like years of training, I finally summoned up the courage to face the beast that awaited me. Somewhere in the dark it lurked in the shadows, claiming what used to be my homeland as its own. I wasn't sure what to think or what to do, but I knew I had to act fast before it was too late.
I opened my eyes for the first time, ready to face the beast and grabbed the nearest weapon I could find—a cup. Now, I was ready. My time has come.
But to my own demise, this creature was smarter than I. Ugly and frightful in appearance but clearly a fast worker. With all 8 legs it was practically unstoppable. I have tried warning the chiefs, but they have said nothing. Instead they gave advice and that I should let my land fall back into peace. No more fighting.
To this day I recall the night of the beast. It is probably planning its next move as I speak. In secret I live in fear, but until the time comes I must defend myself no matter what. This is my home after all and I should protect what's rightfully mine.
A/N: This is a shout out to the spider that kept me up at night only to vanish the one time I thought it would stay in place and is still in my room somewhere. If you're the spider reading this, please find somewhere else to stay. I promise you my room isn't at all that exciting.
