"Grandma, you dropped your credit card," Stella said, picking it up behind her. In her hands already were her grandmother's drivers license and car keys that she had dropped in the parking lot of the supermarket. "How are you losing these things?"

When she stood up she saw Tom was in the aisle over, about to grab a box of pasta. She smiled widely. Even though she had just left his bed a few hours earlier, seeing him in public was like seeing teachers outside of school.

"Hi," she said standing next to him.

"Oh," he looked behind him, nervously.

"Hey babe, what kind of marinara should we get? I'm so bored with the same old," Charlotte was a couple displays down.

Charlotte turned to Tom, who was now talking to a woman she had never seen. Quickly covering her neck, Stella draped her hair over her shoulder and hoped it hid the love bites Charlotte's fiance left on her the night before.

"I'm just such a huge fan," Stella said instead of what she actually wanted to say. Charlotte smiled and grabbed a jar.

"Do you want me to take your picture?" She asked the apparent random fan he just met.

"Oh, I couldn't ask you to do that," Stella tried to refuse.

"I don't mind, I'm practically his personal photographer now," Charlotte's voice was sweet and gentle. A wave of guilt washed over Stella; she felt bad for sleeping with this woman's fiance. "Here, hand me your phone."

Stella reached into her back pocket and pulled it out. She opened it up to the camera and handed it to a cheerful Charlotte. Tom turned to Stella and pulled her in for a hug, his arm wrapped around her waist. Both of them smiled for the camera as Charlotte snapped a few stills.

"I think those are good," Charlotte handed the phone back.

"I'm sure they're great. Thank you so much," Stella turned to Tom, as Charlotte turned back to the shelf.

"I'm sorry," Tom mouthed to Stella.

"Thank you for making me feel special," she forced a smile, knowing Charlotte may have been watching.

"Thanks," he absentmindedly repeated back. He had no idea what the right words were but his heart broke seeing the hurt across her face.

Stella turned on her heel and walked toward her grandmother who was now halfway across the store. Turning back as she met up with Lydia, she saw Tom was still staring in her direction. They had made plans for their final night together, however the two both knew those plans were now canceled. Their goodbye was right there in the supermarket, rather than in bed, naked, after orgasming together.

Nodding to say it was all understood, Stella raised her hand and gave him a small wave. He looked back down the aisle and then back at Stella before waving back.
