Dan: that Eric guy was gross tbh

Christine gasped as she got the message. She was back at home in England satisfied. She was glad. She hated Spain, honestly, and some of it was Eric's fault. The other faults were in the temperature and language.

Why did she have such bad luck with guys? Eric is one of the ten million guys who didn't call or text back. She agreed with Dan, however. He was gross. So maybe it was OK that he didn't call. Plus, he didn't even speak English well.

She was still laid off, of course, so she was still in that state of what-do-I-do-with-my-life. She just walked around the house and sighed everyday, in hopes of her boss calling back to apologizes and give her the job back. It's not that she liked working in a tight office writing school newsletters but it was the only thing keeping her sane. And, of course, able to pay the bills.

Christine: I'm sort of really down about that trip. It was money spent for nothing

She agreed with herself. The money was spent for nothing. It was useless.

Dan: well if it makes you feel better than I'm available?

Christine smiled. Dan was finally available! They'd be able to meet! This was very good in reason because as always, Christine was lonely, and she also felt blue about the whole trip incident(s). And she really liked Dan.

Like, really, really liked him.

He was sort of always there for her in the past few weeks. He understood most things and kept by her throught tough times. He cheered her up with lame jokes and laughed when she told her own share of lame jokes. Plus, he was Dan Howell. Danisnotonfire. When she was younger, in her teens, she did know of him. She just stopped because she was an adult now and had to. Surely, once she met (through the phone) Dan she started watching them again and loved him even more. It was her friend. She felt proud of him, almost, that he was popular or famous or something.

Christine: So you're prepared to go to a restaurant with your friend who's totally sad and cheer her up with really dumb puns? :)

He really did make her feel better.

In Dan's point of view, Christine was up to (but just a tinier bit lower than) Phil-level friendship. He'd classify her as a best friend. Since he was usually antisocial as hell, it was a very awarding title to have. He hadn't even ever seen her face and he was always glad to talk to her.

It's like they loved each other or something.
