Alassiel POV
I go to the house and see my naneth is back but my adar is nowhere to be seen.
"Naneth! Where did Ada go?"
She turns around and looks at me, grief and exasperation written clearly on her face.
"He left...and didn't return."
She told me the details of how he hadn't been there when they got home, simply left a note saying that he had gone hunting and would be back for a couple hours. He had been gone for almost eight hours and it was getting dark fast.My face falls. I already have my bow, so I grab a large sack of food. I get my saddle, bridle, and breastplate because it would be a long trip. I gather my sleeping roll and tie it up, get another burlap sack, and put clothes in that. Lastly I gather four water jugs, and fill them to the brim with water.
"I'm going to look for him" I announce. I bend down and kiss little Ralea and Edil.
"Be good for Nana ok guys?" They nod their heads and hug me. I hold them tight before going to Naneth. I squeeze her and she squeezes me back. "Stay strong, I love you, and I will come back," I whisper in her ear. Then I leave them and go to the stables. While going to my horses stall I pass my Ada's horses stall (which is empty) and see a note. I read it and the tears start to drip. I move on and go to Glosroch. I named her that not because of her color, seeing as she is a brown and white paint, but because of Lossëa. Glosroch means snow white horse, and Lossëa means snow white girl. I lift the saddle on and buckle that with the girth, and continue tacking up. Once I am done strapping everything onto her and me, we gallop out if Dale. The first place I decide to look is the forest. The contents of the note keep running through my head. I decide to head through the forest first.

I am running low on food again. I have neared a civilization. Haven't seen other people in almost a year! I think as I hide Glos in the trees. I enter a tavern/inn and pass a sign that reads The Prancing Pony. I buy a small ale; getting drunk would be very bad. I also buy some bread and potatoes from nearby stands, and retrieve Glos and put her in a stall. Next I head up to the inn and have the best sleep that I've had since I left home. There's no place like home. There's no place like home. I fall asleep with that thought in my head.
.•*Next morning*•.
I look in the mirror for the first time in ages. I look more like an elf that ever now. I had my birthday in March so I am 29 now. My once dark honey blonde hair is wavier and much longer than it used to be and has turned really dark blonde, almost brown. My once green eyes have become grayish blue. My freckles are oh-so-obvious from spending so much time in the sun. I wash my hair and watch as it becomes it's normal dark golden, but then gets even lighter and I see that it has faded to golden with streaks of platinum, and it is down to my waist. I carefully and intricately braid it. I put a midnight blue tunic and a brown leather corset on, along with my breeches and combat boots. I head down to the bar and check out. I grab Glosroch, tack her up, and then ride away..•*several hours later*•.
It is night now. I have reached the edge of the Shire. I doubt I'll find my father here but Glosroch needs rest, as do I. I stop at a pub again. Aw man, not another pub, I think. But I need food and drink, so I leave Glosroch, knowing that she'll stay and graze. With a pat and a "good girl", she puts her head down to the grass and I head inside. This time I pass a sign reading: The Green Dragon. Once inside, I find it pleasantly warm.

I see a beautiful hobbit walk into the door. Wait, scratch that, she isn't a hobbit. She looks like a really short elf. She might be a dwelf. She has wavy golden hair with natural highlights and it is curly at the ends. Her eyes are stormy blue. She has pretty freckles and long eyelashes. I watch her order a Honey Dragon and sit down at an empty table.
"Pip? Pippin? PIPPIN TOOK!" Merry's voice snaps me back to reality.
"Yes?"
"Someone's got a crush"
I deeply blush. I glance at her again only to have her give me the meanest glare I have ever seen. If looks could kill, I would be so dead. She gets up and stalks out, her long hair swishing behind her.
"Ooh, you made her mad!" Merry taunts. I shoot him a look and resume drinking my ale. I wonder why I made her mad. I head home, thinking about her. I don't even know her name.
