Two days. Two days I have stayed in the Shire. I have met a few hobbits, but all of them seem scared of me. This hurts inside but I can't let it show. I am different; a dwelf. I belong nowhere except Dale, and even there I feel alone. I only really felt at home with Lossë, but she is gone now. I need to find Ada. I can't lose him too. I know he is out there, somewhere, looking at the same moon. Home is behind me, the world is ahead. I know that it is a bit late to be gotting homesick, seeing as I left home almost a year ago, it's just... this is just the first place where I have been with other people; seen them in their homes, all happy and snug. I am staying on the outskirts of the Shire, and in the day I travel into the Shire, buy what I need, and head back to camp. I think I may stay here for a few more weeks; I like it here even though I am an outcast. Every day that I venture into the Shire I see the same hobbit that looked at me in the bar. He is always looking at me. I will admit, he is kinda cute... NO, I will never fall in love. Ever. Boys have done nothing but cause me trouble. I lay my head on my knees and look at the stars. I miss my family so much. Ralea is 10 now and Edil is 8. After I find Ada I will go home and we will be a family again. I try to sing myself to sleep using a lullaby that Naneth taught me:

"Lay down, your sweet and weary head, night is falling, you have come to journey's end.... Grey ships pass, into the west." I hear someone coming so I shut up and look down from the tree that I am sleeping in, on the outskirts of the Shire.

I walk, following the voice, then sit against a tree. The singing stops and I tilt my head up, only to see that same girl that was in the Green Dragon peering down at me. I jump up and she tumbles out of the tree but lands on her feet.

"Woah there, lassy." I say.

"Woah there, Lassi." He says. A million thoughts race through my head and I fall into a memory.

🔹Flashback🔹
I must get to the top, and impress Lossë!

"Look at me, Lossë! Look at me!" I shout from atop the tree. She closes her book and looks up, her chocolate eyes searching. "Up here Lossë!" I hint.

She finds me and walks over. "Be careful, Little Lassi. Naneth will never forgive me if you hurt yourself." She looks at me with a hand on her hip. Ny grin fades.

"But, aren't you proud me Lossë?"

"Of course I am, I just don't want you to hurt yourself!" Uppn hearing this, my wide smile returns and I scramble down. About 10 feet up, my foot catches on a branch and I tumble down, landing on my back. All of the air is knocked out of me and Lossë runs over, shocked. "Woah there, Lassi. Are you okay?"

"Yeah. I'm. Good." I manage to choke out. I stand up and brush myself off. "I am fine now, Lossë!" I add when the worried look stays on her face. Relief floods her face and we head home, hand in hand.

I watch the girl collapse and gasp. I sit with my hand on her back and I am frozen, thinking about what to do. A few minutes later she sits up, gasping.

"What happened?" I ask, my hand still on her back. She takes one look at me and runs away. My hand slips from her back and I watch her dissapear into the forest.

A/N: Wow... I haven't updated this book in a jillion years. I might put it on hold for a while. Sorry if the chapter is crappy, most of it was written at 1:45 AM so... Yep. Adios mis amigos!
