Solangelo after the war

Chapter 5; The Beginning

I know this is a little later than when I usually update, but im still uploading on a Saturday so, here goes.

Nico began packing his things, he didn't care what anyone else had said. He wanted to help out since he was the one who didn't do anything to stop he manticore when it had first entered the camp. Will didn't want him doing anything stupid, and kept trying to keep him in the infirmary. That hadn't worked out too well...

When he'd found out that he couldn't persuade Nico to stay, he stupidly decided to say that he was coming along. Chiron had no choice to accept because Will had gave some good points to as why he should go. Such as the fact that he was: 1) a healer, 2) good with a bow and arrow 3) Nico's doctor. But Nico didn't think he'd be able to focus if Will came along.

Then again, if he did come along, Nico could find out what Will had wanted to ask back at Zeus' fist. Nico carried on packing, with more determination. Not only did he want to get out if the camp, he wanted to be able to go out on a quest anyway. It seemed as though everyone gets quests now, apart from him of course.

Nico only decided to pack his sword, his ring and decided to wear the necklace Will had gave to him two days after the whole 'Gaia rising' thing had happened. It was a sun and moon. Nico liked it because he had though it looked nice the way the sun was lighter and shining in the middle of the moon. It was like how Will had brightened up Nico's life.

Nico sat on his bed. Argus wasn't leaving for another 20 minutes. He would also have to wait for Percy, Annabeth, Jason and Piper to get ready. They would probably still be packing. Will, being the head of the Apollo cabin, would have had to set an example and be ready the night before.

Knowing him, he would've started right after the heroes going on the quest were picked. This was of course decided by the prophecy Rachel Dare had spouted two nights ago, along with some sickly green mist which had scared some of the newer campers. One of the Hermes kids ended up spilling their guts.

Nico heard a knock on his door and familiar voice of Jason,

"Hey, Nico. Can I come in for a bit?" Jason asked, cautiously entering the Hades cabin

"Sure," Nico answered. "What's up?"

"Hey, we haven't hung out for like forever and I don't even get a proper hello?" Jason pouted.

Nico laughed. Jason was like an older brother to him since Nico had revealed his, now gone, crush on Percy Jackson. "Fine, hey bro. How're you?" Nico chuckled.

"Now is not the time to ask those sort of questions," Jason answered, going serious all of a sudden. "We are leaving now. Chiron wants us to tell gods of the warning and the prophecy"

Everyone had got into the van Argus usually drove. Percy and Annabeth had decided to sit next to each other, followed by Piper and Jason. Which left Nico and Will the There are also others which harpies drive, but not many of the campers get along with them.

The drive to the Empire State Building was quite a drive away from the camp which gave Nico and Will lots of time to not talk. Instead, Nico decided to try and listen to some music on a mp3 some of the campers had started to develop. It wasn't complete but Nico had been given the latest prototype by one of the Hephaestus kids. It was good, but Nico thought that Leo could've developed it better. He was one of the best Hephaestus campers there had ever been. But then he'd decided to go and sacrifice himself to save the camps. Everyone had missed Leo but no one ever brought him up because of the pain everyone had felt. Deep down, Nico believed he wasn't truly gone. If he was, he would've felt it.

"Hey," Will began, yanking out one of Nico's earphones and continued speaking. " about the other day..." his voice trailed

"What? When we were attacked, or just before?" Nico asked. His voice showing no interest while his head was screaming 'TELL ME'

"Well, I was just going to say, since we are hanging out quite a lot and a few campers think it already..." Nico could tell Sill was nervous. To be totally honest, he was getting nervous.

Will began to go as red as his dad's sun chariot. Nico began playing with his ring. And since they were still in the van, neither of them could think of a way to get out of this situation.

Nico began to speak but he heard Will mumble "here goes," and stopped himself. Will continued, "Well, Nico. Do you wanna... Go out with me?" His voice wavered. Of all the situations he'd been in, this is the one where he managed to lose his cool and collected attitude. Nico didn't think that a guy such as Will could have something affect him so much.

Nico smiled, and thought for a minute. He turned to Will, bringing his face up to his own and looking him in the eyes. "Yes." He answered. They sat in silence for a minute or so, just staring at each other.

"Finally." They turned to see that the other four had turned around and had been watching what was going on. Jason's smile had somehow managed to get bigger and Piper was almost exactly the same. For being someone who isn't interested in their own mom, she sure loved the love she was seeing now. Annabeth flashed them a smile while Percy was sat there, just gawking at them.

Percy soon managed to regain control of his face. Thank gods, Nico thought. He didn't want to carry on seeing Percy like that, he could've started to drool like how he does when he sleeps. "So I'm not your type, but he is?"

Annabeth hit him in the arm and the others laughed. Nico was just about to pull Will in for a kiss when the bus had jolted. They had arrived.

Sorry to spoil the kiss if anyone wanted it... It's coming up soon :) also, I've got some mock exams coming up and I don't know if I'll be able to update in the next few weeks. Don't get me wrong, I'll keep writing the chapters for you lovely people. It's just juggling revision, homework and this may be a struggle.
