It seems that fate is on their side because it just so happens that Hyun Bin's schedule had just been all cleared. He had just showered and dressed, with a slight skip to his steps- more than ready to start this day. The event that happened the night before still freshly etched on his mind.
Upon arriving at his apartment, the first thing he did was text her that he's arrived safely- without speeding. She didn't respond for quite a while but eventually did with a 'Thank you for driving safely 💕' as a reply. He knew he isn't the type nor the proper age group who would converse using emojis, but it made him nonetheless giddy. Little did he know, she debated using the heart emoji for the entire time it took her to send that message.
Whilst texting, they discussed the plan for the day briefly. But detailed enough to know that Ye Jin did not have anything on schedule, which is perfect because it means that they can now spend the day together.
On his drive to her apartment, he's managed to arrange everything that he thinks she may find enjoyable. He spared no expense. He did promise to show her the adoration and love she deserves.
He knocks on her door and hears her on the other side shuffling through. He opens to quite a smiley Son Ye Jin, her hair in a messy bun and her face done in minimal makeup that brings out all the beautiful features on her face. She's dressed in a simple white floral top and knee length skirt. She steps back to let him in, and holds the door open - swaying slightly where she stands. There's an unspoken sweetness in the air enveloping the newly declared couple. It doesn't matter whether anyone knew about them - they were intoxicated on each other.
She closes the door behind them and turn to face him. He looks at her expectantly with a wide smile plastered in his face.
"Morning Bin ssi, did you sleep well?" Son Ye Jin asks - her best eye smiles on display.
He lets out a small laugh and scratches behind his ear. "To be honest, barely. I guess the excitement was too much on me. I didn't want to be late to see you."
"Haha Bin ssi you were just here a few hours ago you know."
"We lost so much time already, I really don't want to lose anymore with you." He states almost non challantly but serious - his voice so certain and sure, she had to take a deep breath.
One thing Son Ye Jin hates is over exaggeration. Having spent such a long time in this industry, she's used to people saying things they don't really mean to get in her good graces. Even with her past relationships, men have uttered what was supposedly heart fluttering declarations of love that she brushed aside due to its insincerity. But what he just said - so simple and genuine, it made her feel lightheaded.
She blinks twice and laughs nervously. She is rationally thinking of what to do next when her body reacts on instinct and unexpectedly smacks him quite hard on his shoulder. Wait, why did I do that?
She's known he's liked her for a while now. Even as friends, he always gave her special attention. But now that their dynamic has irrevocably changed for the better almost overnight, she's realized that she has to behave differently. And what she just did made her feel so inwardly awkward- she couldn't help but turn around to scold herself. Sensing that she regretted doing that, Hyun Bin laughs along with her to ease the tension and as she turns around to walk to the next room, he rubs on the spot where she had hit him. Wow she hits pretty well.
Walking to the living area, Hyun Bin finds snacks arranged on a platter on the coffee table with all the things he likes. "Ye Jin ah what's all this?"
"Don't you like these things? I got your beer and your snacks." She says as she plops herself on the sofa. "We're watching a movie."
"Ye Jin ah we spoke on the phone remember. We're not spending the whole day watching TV and snacking." He takes a seat next to her and intertwine their hands together.
