Chapter 1

Somewhere in the capital of Maria near a plaza, a long-haired brunet was enjoying his time of toying with the assassins that were after him. He vanished into thin air and appeared in the middle of the plaza and placed a hand on his hip, "You know for assassins you sure do suck at your job," he teased glaring at the two assassins charging at him. "Why don't I teach you a lesson of fighting, but here's my problem I can't in hand-to-hand, but I can do this," he said snickering and rose his right arm up and held his hand out flat facing the assassin. "It's time you understand one thing....you're dead," he said in a low growl and watched one of them fall down coughing up blood. "As for you here's your lesson," Eren said in a monotone turning his head slowly towards the other with a demonic smile as he listened to the assassin on the ground scream in agony. The brunet was about to kill the other assassin before he heard footsteps behind him. He turned around and his face became stoic instantly. "Need something Mikasa," he questioned raising a brow. "Prince Eren, you shouldn't be in the capital while people are still seeking your death," the raven-haired woman explained looking over at the assassin who fell on the ground. Eren looked over at them and chuckled, "They really aren't a hassle to manage Mikasa. It's rather fun toying with them like this though I am scaring the kids most likely. Well guess it's time to get rid of the trash," he scoffed as his eyes glowed, and the assassins vanished. "I don't ever get to do what I want with them, it's either wait for you and Armin to arrive to kill them or bring them somewhere they can be interrogated. I can very well fend them off and kill like I did with one of them," Eren claimed crossing his arms over his bare chest as he turned around and stared at Mikasa. He typically wore nothing to cover his upper body since he wore a broad collar made of gold and embedded with some emeralds, gold bands on his wrists and one on his right ankle, and a wrap around skirt that was pleated in the front. It was being held up by a belt that again had emeralds embedded in it though it had one or two sapphires embedded in it as well. "Your father assigned me and Armin to protect you while in the capital. He is aware you can fend for yourself, but he is also aware of the assassins that can nullify the mana within their target. Like you said you aren't well taught in hand-to-hand, but right now your father wishes to to speak with you about something," Mikasa explained eyeing Eren back. She was used to him acting cocky, but he was doing it to show the people in the plaza of what he can do to. Eren sighed and nodded, the two walked off heading towards the palace. He guessed it was to discuss finding his mate or something about killing his assassins before they can be interrogated. He did leave one of them alive at least he hoped he did.

At the palace, Eren stepped into the throne room alone, since unless requested no one other than the royal family may enter. The royal family being the pharaoh, their mate, and children, but Eren knelt onto one knee and stared at the ground. "You called for me father," he asked continuing to stare down. Even though he was the prince, he still had rules to follow, one being to stay kneeling on one knee till told he could stand up. "I did and I presume you know the reason why I have called for you," his father inquired sounding rather annoyed. The brunet shook his head and spoke, "I do not father, but is it about what happened a few minutes ago with the two assassins after me in the capital?" Upon hearing this Eren's father stood up from his throne and glared at his son. "That's the main reason! By the gods Eren me and your mother have told you—" his father spoke and Eren interrupted him, "Well mother isn't here right now. She's recovering from an illness...I'm sorry forgive me for interrupting you," Eren apologized closing his eyes preparing to be slapped, but it never came. "You're forgiven, but regardless one's dead and the other is too scared to even speak so again we can't get any information out of either. Also, your mentor Hange is going over your lessons to determine whether you passed or not at this very moment and she said it would take up to a few days since she is also trying to figure out if you will find your mate or if you will die since you are nearing 20," his father said sounding upset as he sat back down on his throne. "You are dismissed, and I want you to take Mikasa with you to interrogate the one assassin that lived. If he doesn't speak then feel free to kill them as well, Eren's father ordered and watched Eren stand up and walk out of the throne room.
