"Why are you leaving" he asks as he lights a cigarette, not daring to look at her
"I've lived here for 18 years of my life, I want to get out, I want to see the world and explore it and I can't do any of that if I remain here, it's like an endless circle you can't break" she says as she stares off into the distance
"That's not the only reason is it, there's something else isn't there" he says taking a drag of his cigarette
"That is the only reason, there's nothing else" she says as she looks at him
"Who are you running from" he asks
"No one okay, I just need to start fresh and begin a new chapter" she says
"You can't ever forget Charming or get rid it" he says as he walks away
That was almost 10 years ago and I haven't been back in Charming since. If I'm being honest, I had no intentions of retiring home but when I got a call from my mother saying that my sister had a baby. I knew it was time for me to come home.
