Chapter 40

The following day Kamari went to shoot her music video. The song she was doing was her new single "dance for you".

Song: dance for you by Beyoncé (Kamari's video is going to be the same as Beyoncé's but with difference clothes)

Kamari could feel the tension with Faith. She could tell she was feeling some type of way about something.

"Hey, do you know what's up with Faith?", Kamari asked.

"I don't know", Hope replied. Hope did know though.

Kamari walked to Faith.

"We got beef?", Kamari asked jokingly.

Faith looked past Kamari.

"Your boyfriend's here", Faith said with a straight face.

Kamari looked back and saw Quinton from a distance talking to someone then looked back at Faith.

"Guess he decided to stop by", Kamari said. "But back to you"

"I'm fine", Faith said.

"You don't seem fine", Kamari said.

"I'm fine", Faith repeated. "Seriously"

Kamari nods.

Quinton came walking over.

"Hey Hope", Quinton said to Faith.

"Faith", Faith said.

"Oh, sorry. Hey Faith", Quinton said.

"Hey", Faith replied.

Quinton looked at Kamari and looked her up and down at what she had on.

Kamari had a neon pink strapless body suit that was in a style of a one piece swimsuit, fish nets, and some  black heels. Her hair had body waves in it.

"Let me talk to Mari for a minute", Quinton said.

Faith looked at the both of them then waited away to Hope.

"What is this?", Quinton asked as he pointed to her outfit.

"My outfit?", Kamari replied.

"What song are you doing the video for?", Quinton asked.

"Dance for you", Kamari replied.

"Wait, you aren't going to be dancing on no one right?", Quinton asked.

"For like a quick scene or so. Look at Quinton it's not that big of a deal, especially since you have half naked women in your videos sometimes", Kamari said.

"How about this. The song is about me, so let me be the one to be in the video", Quinton said.

"No. I'm not about to waste anyone's time. The actor is already here. You know what how about I not even dance on him alright? I'll just make it seem like I'm dancing for him but really I'm not", Kamari said.

"...why didn't you ask me to do it in the first place", Quinton asked.

"Because Q, I can not have you in every video I do", Kamari said.

"Why not?", Quinton asked.

"Okay so what if we don't last huh? I would have to be reminded of you with every video that involves me having to have a guy in it", Kamari said.

"Wow. So you don't think we'll last?", Quinton asked.

"I didn't say that. Look I've looked dumb already and I don't wanna jinx things", Kamari said.

Quinton rolled his eyes.

"We'll just talk about this later", he said.

"There isn't anything to talk about. Damn, why do we keep having to do this!?", Kamari asked as she raised her voice.

People near them looked at them.

Quinton looked around and that cause them to look away.

Quinton got closer to Kamari and whispered in her ear.

"Lower your god damn voice", Quinton said.

Kamari started to walk away but Quinton grabbed her arm.

"Do you understand me?", he asked in a serious tone.

Kamari looked at his hand then at him.

"I'm tired of you talking to me like I'm some child lately", Kamari said. "I've let it slide but I'm tired of it"

Quinton made a face.

"Stop doing dumb stuff then", Quinton said.

Kamari massaged her temples.

"If I'm doing dumb stuff then why are you with me?", Kamari asked after she stop massaging her temples. "Because apparently I'm not doing anything right but yet you brought a ring and I'm confused as to-"

Quinton interrupted her. "Ring?", Quinton asked.

Kamari sighed. "I saw it in the drawer last night", Kamari said.

"Is that why you left?", Quinton asked.

"Q, I have to work. Let's just talk about this another time", Kamari said as she started walking away.

Quinton made a face as he watched her walk away.

After the music video shoot, Quinton was outside of Kamari's trailer waiting for her.

Faith saw him and walked up to him.

"I've noticed that you've been really clingy lately", Faith said. "Didn't think that was a trait for you"

Before Quinton could respond, Kamari walked out of the trailer.

"Well I guess you learn something new everyday, but I'm not clingy", Quinton said.

Faith looked at Kamari then back at Quinton and walked away.

"What's up with her?", Quinton asked.

"...I think she's mad at me", Kamari said.

"Oh...but um about what you saw, that wasn't a ring", Quinton said.

"Oh", Kamari said. She felt embarrassed.

"I'm not ready for that step just yet", Quinton said.

"Neither am I", Kamari replied as she looked down.

Quinton kinda looked sad but he didn't show that to Kamari.

Kamari looked at him.

"Well I guess I can admit that I got scared when I saw the box so I left", Kamari said.

"It's cool", Quinton said.

"But as promised, I'm coming to your house to spend the night. Dinner on me?", she said.

"In the mood for hibachi", Quinton said.

"Alright. I'll get our food and meet you at your apartment", Kamari said as they started walking to their cars.

When Quinton got to his apartment, he took his shoes off and sat down on his bed. He checked his phone but if didn't have anything interesting on it so he put it down on the bed. He stared at the nightstand for a moment and opened it. He pulled out the ring box and opened it to see a engagement ring. He stared at it for a moment then too it out, walked on to the balcony, and threw it.

"I don't know what the fuck I was thinking anyway", Quinton mumbled to himself.

Quinton shook his head and walked into the bedroom. He took off his clothes then went into the bathroom to shower.
