"How is it?" Beomgyu asked Taehyun as he took the first bite from the meal prepared by the older male who looked at him with anticipation.
They finally settled down at the table with a super excited Beomgyu having made an almost perfect dinner.
Taehyun relished the food made by his lover no matter how under-seasoned it was. It still tasted wonderful to him. "It's so good, hyung."
"Really?"
He nodded, taking another bite of the food and eating it deliciously.
The pleased smile that adorned Beomgyu's face quickly turned into a frown the moment he tasted it for himself. "Taehyun-ah! It has almost no salt! How are you eating it?"
"It has plenty of love to replace it. It is enough for me." he chuckled before continuing to eat.
Groaning, Beomgyu got up from his seat to bring salt from the kitchen and added it to the food. A small smile played at his lips at the comment from his lover. It made him feel giddy.
"Much better," he mused and took his first proper bite. Taehyun laughed at him before enveloping him in a sideways hug.
That night, the bed didn't feel so cold anymore. The moon didn't look so lonely anymore. The darkness wasn't as dark anymore.
That night, he had Taehyun beside him. They talked about various topics and events that had taken place while he was gone.
Beomgyu scrolled through his phone and showed Taehyun the pictures he'd taken while he was away.
There was a thing he noticed, "Why aren't there any pictures of you?"
He saw pictures of his other friends, Toto, different types of take-out he'd ordered, pictures of the sunrise. But none of them had Beomgyu in it except for the group photos with the rest of the boys.
The said boy looked away for a moment. "Didn't feel like it. I'd rather take them with you." He looked down so that his eyelashes brushed against his cheeks in the most delicate way he could count them.
Setting aside the phone on the nightstand, Taehyun brought his hand close to Beomgyu and brushed off the stray hair that fell on his eyes, placing a small kiss on his temple.
The touch of Taehyun's lips with his forehead made him feel fluttery all over again like the first kiss they'd shared back in high school. Subconsciously, he leaned into the kiss taking in the scent of the younger boy he had so dearly missed.
Noticing how vulnerable Beomgyu felt at that moment, Taehyun peppered a few more kisses all over his face comforting him. Each little kiss resembled a promise- promise to always protect him, always trust him, always be there when he needed him, always be by his side and to always, always love him no matter what.
His skin burned at the contact with Taehyun- it was so addicting. He wanted more.
Pushing Taehyun on his back, he climbed on top of Taehyun straddling him and crashed his lips on that of Taehyun's. He kissed him like it was the only thing that would keep him sane- well it was true. He craved his physical presence so much and these two months of being apart had lit an invisible flame inside him.
He wanted to show how much he loved him be it through games, words, food, or moments like these.
Maybe that was only half the truth- Beomgyu was scared, scared that he might forget what Taehyun smelt like, what his hand felt like when it touched his own or the feeling of his lips that danced with Beomgyu's own- the fear had somehow found its way in his heart and he found it difficult to move on from it.
