“What are you talking about ‘I can’t leave’?”.
“He’ll hurt you,” Luke said separating the blinds and peering through them.
“Who? That guy from the club?”
He didn’t reply. He walked toward the door he came in from and began to open it.
“No! You can’t just leave! I have questions! How does that man know me?”
He wouldn’t answer. He finished opening the door and I ran as fast as my body would allow. Propelling myself toward the door, but when I reached him, the door was shut.
I jabbed my hand at the doorknob and tried turning it, however Luke had already locked it.
Angry flushed on my face.
“Let me out, you coward!” I fought the door, punching and kicking it. “I know you can here me!”. I let a scream escape my lips, in hope someone would hear me. We couldn’t be that far from town. There had to be people around.
I walked with pace toward the window Luke was looking through moments earlier. Separating the blind, I looked outside. All I could see were trees.
There was another window on the other side of the room. I looked through that window. Again, surrounded by tree.
The only explanation was that we had to be hidden in the middle of a huge forest. No one would find us. No one would here my scream. No one could help me.
The fear overwhelmed me and I could feel tears burning my eyes.
“Please,” I cried. “Let me out”.
What was the point? No one could hear me, Luke didn’t care, and I was just hurting my throat.
I walked toward the white bed, and slouched down on it. The soft pillow forming around my pounding head.
My tears dripped on the white pillowcase. I turned my damp face, wiping on the pillow.
“Why am I here?” I whimpered faintly into the pillows. And briefly after, my tired eyes shut and I asleep.
I was awoke by the sound of a knock at my door. I sat up sluggishly and rubbed my eyes.
The door opened, and Luke walked in with a tray of food.
“I brought you-,” Luke started.
“I’m not hungry,” I interjected.
“You have to be. You haven’t eaten anything”.
“Well I’m not. Thank you”.
Luke sat the tray on the dresser and walked toward the door.
“If you get hungry,” Luke informed. I closed my eyes and turned the other way. All I heard was the click of the door closing.
My stomach rumbled, but I didn’t have the appetite to eat anything. I hadn’t eaten anything for the past day and a half.
I was running through a thick forest. The greenery flashed past me. My legs burned, like I had been running for a while. And I had the feeling someone was chasing after me. I could feel my hair sticking to the nape of my neck with cold sweat.
As I drew closer to the end of the forest, I could see an opening. My hope automatically escalated. When I reached the opening, I couldn’t go any farther. I was blocked from escaping. Almost like a forcefield. And as I struggled to get past the opening, I could feel the distance between me and whoever or whatever was chasing me getting increasingly smaller.
