Ryder Castillo POV
It was a warm nice day in Florida, the shitty thing was, we were packing.
"Ry, could you help me with the top shelf in my room?" My 12 year old brother asked, jogging in my almost fully packed room.
Well, ex-room.
"Sure. Only if you promise me to get the things from under my bed." I smiled, hopefully he would fall into my trap of 'I'm going to help out my favorite sister'.
He nodded, "Sure. Just hurry up, dad called me and said that he's coming with the truck in 2 hours and we still have to do the bathrooms."
"Great." I groaned, already dreading the packing of the living room.
The reason we were moving is because I got into Easton Preparatory. It was a school of where the richest people in the world went and are still going there. I was accepted because of my musical and ballet talents. I've been dancing and singing since I started walking.
River was my 12 year old brother and he got accepted into their middle school. We had to use a lot of the savings but, this was big for all of us considering dad also got an amazing job at the local dental hospital.
Our mother, Aria was half Indian, half white and died giving birth to River and his twin sister. Our sister and mother both died to medical issues. Dad is half Mexican and half Finnish.
So basically, me and River are 1/4 Indian, 1/4 Mexican, 1/4 Finnish and 1/4 White.
My mom used to be a pianist for the University of Florida and that's where people think I got my musical talent from.

We finally packed everything and moved it to the living room. At this point, we were waiting for dad to come with the moving truck.
River and I were sitting on boxes, playing 'sticks.'
"Ha. I win. Again. I beat you! I beat you! I beat you!" River jumped up, punching the air, singing and sticking his tongue out at me.
"That's so unfair! You cheated and put a finger down when I was gonna tap you!" I complained, chasing him around the computer.
I tackled him and I straddled him, "Admit it. You cheated,"
"What the heck is going on here?" Dads voice echoed in the now empty living room.
"Hey dad, she got on top of me and started yelling bull!" River accused, pointing to me as dad raised a brow, his hands now on his hips.
"He's lying dad. He cheated and he won't admit it." I bit back, glaring at my 5'3 brother.
"You know what? Let's talk in the truck. First, Ry, you bring your boxes, Riv bring yours. Then we go and get the rest." Dad said, picking up a box of his things, going outside and loading it into the back of the truck.
Me and River looked at each other with a look of disgust and annoyance and groaned loudly. Dad always said we got our laziness from our mom cause he loves working out and being active.
He even went and made us take karate classes so we'd be able to defend ur selves in case of anything bad happening. He never told me until I turned 16, a few months ago and I'm still shaken up by it.
My mom was raped when she was a teenager and she didn't want anyone to go through that and she told dad to enroll all their kids in karate and self defense classes.
I was crying for days after that and dad tried to calm me down, River was confused as fuck but didn't question it.
"Come on, kiddos. We gotta get to New York City." Dad laughed as we slouch into the trucks seat.
